I just got off the phone with my friend and he said not to invest in buying an SVO or Bio system because the feds might be outlawing the whole thing because of taxes? This cant be true right?

I dont know if it is true but it could be, the same reason weed isnt legal cuz they cant figure out how to tax it.

unfortunately it can, the government can make anyhting illegal, especially things that are sneeking under the TAX system. ol uncle sam gets really upset when he doesnt get his. HINCH why the fine for geting caught with farm(red) fuel is so expensive. only because he cant tax it!!

i think weed should be legalized i mean seriously look at how much it would help our economy.
1) the jails wouldnt be slammed full wasting a SCHIT load of tax money on people who got caught with a dime bag in there pocket
2) it would also cut down on a lot of crime becase it would be one less illegal narcotic on the streets being passed down from drug dealers. you could just go to the local gas station fill up and go inside and buy a dime bag much safer. not to mention the goverment could tax it make some money, lol i know they like to do that.
3) The unemployment rate in the U.S. would probly go down because there would be less people getting fired  for failing U.A's(aka PI SS tests.)
4) I dont want to send out the wrong message here i dont condone the usage of drugs but lets face it weed grows from the ground its not a bunch of household and industrial chemicals thrown into a pot and made by someone. im sure that with all the modern technology we have these days someone could come up with a device to tell if someone is HIGH like AT work or driving around in there vehicle. it would be just like ALCOHOL!! thats just my opinion on the whole matter

i agree its two different things coke has to be processed as well with chemicals to be made. weed is just a weed that grows. hemp makes a good fuel stock as well for bio its usefullness out weighs the bad in my opinion as a former cop i could tell ya i would rather deal with someone whom was high than drunk. i personally dont do it but i could careless if people do as long as they dont do it around my kids. my $.03 (inflation sux)

iam the same way i drink but dont do any drugs to me its not worth loosing everything i have worked my ass of to get. But unfortunatley it is one thing that is never going to go away. and hell if it(weed) was legal maybe even less people would do it then later on get hooked up in even worse drugs I.E. meth. because if it was legal people wouldnt get the im trying to get away with something rush.

Yep, it all comes down to Uncle Sam getting his cut. That's why the government is cracking down on old hippie grandpas making batches of biodiesel in their back yard. Legally, you can give it away, but you can't sell it. I think some states have a maximum quantity rule for how much bio you can make for your own use. If you produce more than a certain amount, then they consider you a "producer" and start coming after you for taxes.

It's really pretty $#!tty how between the government & big oil, it's really discouraging use of biofuels, except for ethanol, which is raising food prices.

However, one interesting take I heard is that some of the large "independent" fuel distributors, like Costco and Wal Mart or other retailers that have gas pumps are really interested in selling alternative fuels, and they're big enough where they could actually put pressure on Big Oil like ExxonMobil, Chevron, Shell, etc.

Also, supposedly by 2010, 50 percent of GM's gas-powered cars will be flex-fuel, so some things are starting to fall into place that could break Big Oil's stranglehold on the economy, but any of these things are probably 2-3 years away, so don't expect any immediate relief, unfortunately.

It appears that they are outlawing it in Austrailia.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200406/s1133605.htm

No big surprise there they already disarmed their citizens now they are telling them what they are allowed to fuel their own vehicles with.

As far as the US? Not sure. Sure would be both anti-capitalist and un-American.

Yeah, if you're making your own biodiesel or using WVO, I'd keep a low profile right now. They're definitely coming after people more aggressively now than they used to. What I find incredibly ironic and hypocritical is that a lot of these same cities are using biodiesel or greasecar conversions on their own municipal fleets! What kind of BS is that when they use it themselves, but come after the private citizen for doing the same thing?
