I am looking at getting at 6.7 (wish they still made the 5.9) and was wondering what type of power have people been able to get out of it?  I can't seem to find a whole lot on upgrades and haven't found anyone that has broken 1000 ft lbs yet. But i hope some one can give a hint.

the 6.7 is still a very new motor, give it time and there will be more options that become available for it.  Ive talked to a friend that tests these motors at Cummins, the power potential is a little lower RIGHT NOW, over time itll get better im sure.  Keep in mind that despite the fuel pump and head changes, the 5.9 remianed the pretty much the same for almost 20 years thus allowing aftermarket companies to get a good grasp on its potential and what works/doesnt work.

1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins 24 valve, 5spd with south bend 550hp+ clutch, 150 horse injectors, Fram Boost intake(for now), Edge Juice with attitude, 150 gph fass fuel pump and much more, all together 450 dyno proven HP and 1170 ft lbs.

you figure the 6.7 has only been out for a small amount of time so you gotta wait and give it some time.

The big limiting factor, and the big question you have to ask yourself is the DPF, and if you're willing to remove it. If you think about it, the era of "clean diesel" performance is just beginning, and it will take a while for the aftermarket to get used to it and learn to work with it.

Just like back in the '70s when cats started showing up on cars, everyone thought that was the end of performance. But gasoline engines are now more powerful and more efficient than ever! I think in time, you will see a similar evolution with diesel.

The 6.7 has huge power potential. You just have to get rid of every thing under the hood and get rid of the DPF. You just have to not worry about the warranty. Your truck will run so much better and cleaner without it and in the long run it will be more effiecient. Get a Programmer and module and stack em & you will already putting up some big numbers along with the deletes. Heck my 6.7 still doesn't even smoke hardly at all with the deletes until i crank my Edge and my mp-8, then its a different story(along with all the burning rubber haha)

There was an article in an earlier diesel power and also some vids on youtube about a guy with a 6.7 that has over 600, i believe around 680 at the wheels. I believe he straight piped it put on an edge, cold air intake, took of the VGT and put on a 5.9 aftermarket turbo (cant remember the brand) had his injectors extrude honed, and put on a modified cp3 and a new aftermarket lift pump.

if you are BRAVE enough to rip all the emission garbage off the new trucks yuo can turn them into hotrods real quick. the only problem is i havent heard of any dealers that will "look the other way" with modded 07.5+ vehicles good luck

don't bother buying a 6.7 and trying to upgrade it yet...unless you plan on voiding the warranty by doing DPF and EGR delete kits....save yourself the hassle and get the 5.9 you can do anything to it it's bulletproof.
