out local mechanic told us that the new 6.7 would use shell rotella 15w40 like we have used in all of our diesel for ever. is this true? what oil do you guys run?
2007 Dodge 3500 crew cab 4x4 6speed stock for now

it should be the same thing you would use in any cummins . i use rotella 15w40. they have all the same componets as a 5.9 ex for the egr and bigger pistons

You must use CJ-4 low ash oil. Shell Rotella T Triple Protection is CJ-4 compliant. You MUST use CJ-4 oil in all of the new diesels with DPF's to meet emissions and to keep the DPF from plugging up.

bull the oil has nothing to do with dpf

I thought is was CI-4 compliant?

I was wondering the symptoms of the dpf clogging, The truck in question has lost power blows alot of soot, If that is th case what can be done to help prevent it? Thnks for any help
