Have any of you guys seen any of the new Jetta TDIs on the road? Several of my friends said they've seen the sedans on the road out here in CA, and not just the hokey-looking demo models, but actual customer cars in silver and black. If you have photos, post them here!

There is one at my local dealer, tried to test drive it but they said its a demo model only. If I were to buy one, they would let me test drive it. Jerks.

Wow. Those guys are jerks. I test-drove one no problem. I told the salesperson straight-up I was only interested in the SportWagen, and let me know when they came in. Not bad. They're not super-fast, but they're far from gutless. Would make a nice commuter.

I also went to a Dodge dealer to try and drive the new Challenger. That was an even BIGGER no! Plus, they are adding $20,000 markup to the $40,000 sticker. Sure its an SRT-8 but who cares! Twenty grand markup???!?!?!

The only one I've seen is mine! I picked it up Monday and I'm very impressed...even after 6 years driving a BMW M3! The automatic TDI handles well, has some zip, and I'll update you on the real world MPG in a week or so. I think it'll do a tad better than the M3's 16.7!

Cool! Keep us updated on how you like it. I was reasonably impressed when I test-drove one. Had to get used to the power delivery as compared to a gasser, but it got up & went no problem. No use in revving it much past 3,500 rpm. Not much on the top end, but that's like most diesels.
