Hi All -
Have spent an hour perusing previous posts and can't seem to find where to post this to although it does seem that some folks are experiencing related problems. Here it is:
1997 Cummins (Dodge 2500) with 2003 Banks modification to add Superkit and exhaust brake. Now with 250K miles and a new (rebuilt) Dodge transmission. Before lost transmission, truck would stall almost anytime I came to stop if the air conditioner was on OR if I had the wheels turned more than a few degrees. Was told at that time (2007) that I needed new Torque Converter. Put it off and when I replaced the transmission 1 month ago (June 2008), was told that the replacement would also replace the torque converter and my problem with stalling would go away. Reality? Nope - still have problem. Also notice that the truck idle is somewhere around 500; shouldn't it be higher?
Please provide helpful hints.
Thank you!

On the 97 Dodge Ram Diesel you should have idle set to: 700 RPM with the a/c on and trans in drive. i had same prob on my 96. you will need laser tach to read crank pulley. it has a reflector on it. when doing this block the wheels and put on emergency brake.

also, check for vaccum leaks, that alone will cause a ton of problems.

you can adjust it right on the injection pump, type in P-pump idle adjustment to get a picture of where the screw is located, you can also look through the tech articles on this site, they had pics of one a while back.
