Sure you can. It still has a bit of good life left in it, if it was reasonably cared for in the past. Do all the same adjustments and gov spring as Project Rust Bucket in the magazine.

project rig: 99 Super Duty F250 2WD, DT466/ AT545 swap in the works.

I would definitely mess with it! I can't remember but I don't think the '90 was intercooled so you might want to look for an intercooler off a later 1st gen, like a '93. A lot of guys used to go to a smaller turbo housing. I think it was a 9cm, it spooled up faster. With a nice exhaust, intake and your pump adjustments, you will be smiling.

yeah, BCRAM is right, the 90s werent intercooled, id follow his advice and also build the rig similar to Project Rust Bucket.

I've found guys usually fall into one of two camps: Either leave everything stock and don't do anything, or tweak and tinker to get the most out of something. Obviously, on a truck that old, it's well out of warranty, so I figure why not?

yeah, and believe it or not, those old VE pumps are pretty reliable and can handle a lot, most of what you can throw at, though not as well as the P7100 but still better then the VP44.(i bet i just confused the crap out of him )

tHE FIRST QUESTION IS HOW DOSE THE OIL PRESSURE LOOK. I HAVE A FRIEND WHO BOUGHT AN 89 2WD 3/4 TON TRUCK IN THE 200k MILE. HE GET THIS THING HOME AND TOOK THE MUFFLER OFF OND DID SOME MINOR FUEL ADJUSTMENTS. THE TRUCK RAN GOOD FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE MOTOR BLEW. HE REBUILT THE MOTOR AND HAS BEEN RUNNING IT FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. THE REASON THE MOTOR BLEW WAS BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF OIL PRESSURE THE ROD & MAIN BEARINGS WERE GONE. IF THE TRUCK HOLD GOOD OIL PRESSURE THEN GO FOR IT IF IT LOOKS A LITTLE LOW THEN PULL THE PAN AND REPLACE THE ROD AND MAIN BEARINGS AND OIL PUMP. I JUST PUT A NEW GAS MOTOR IN MY 92 DODGE ENGINE BECAUSE OF OIL PRESSURE ISSUES
