I dunno why everyone hates on the 6.4 so much.... I dont get it. So far my brothers 6.4 has been awesome and has done anything and everything that we asked it to do problem free. It does its regen cycles when its been idling for a minute just like the dealer said and everything works just the way it should. The LMM on the other hand just has problem after problem. My dad hates it and wishes he never bought one because it has been so terrible. It doesnt ever wanna haul anything and we have had to take it to the dealer three times now so they can put it in manual regen because otherwise it doesnt do it on its own. If anything we should be hatin on the LMM not the Powerstroke 6.4L.

Thats why i like the Big Horn Edition dodge that i have because it doesnt have too many or too few options, just right and it rides like a truck too.

Yikes! Hopefully that'll get better as the engine gets broken in a little more.

Yea thats a good point. Out in the field i know alot of companys only buy a chevy Dmax or a Dodge with the Cummins. My boss drives an 08 Lmm and it only averages 8 to 12 miles to the gallon. My work truck is a 6.7 Cummins and the best i have ever averaged is 16.3 out of it and that was completely unloaded and the it averages about 9 when i am hooked up to our backhoe trailor and about 5.5 to 6 when the trailor is loaded down.
I drive an 04 Duramax i have the edge Juice with attitude with the Diablo Sport Preditor Stacked on top of it I have a K&N cold air induction And a 5 inch exhaust turbo back. 16X8 Dick Cepek DC-1 Rims 285 Cooper Discoveries STT Auto meter Phantom Boost and Pyrometer. I just dont get how some of these guys are getting such poor mileage on their 6.4. I dunno what city driving is like but obviously its alot harder than drivin hard out at the ranch. My brothers 6.4 hasnt had a problem and the mileage is decent so there is no reason to complain. My dads 08 LMM is only getting 12mpg but we dont hear anything about that because it not a new engine. Blah blah blah I'm getting tired of reading this *** that the Powerstroke cant get good mileage. Yea i would like to see Ford get rid of the Powerstroke because Intertrashanal ruined their reputation but its all about how you drive not nessecarly the truck.

Love the 7.3 Gave my son my old 1997 F-250 2wd 5-speed 4.10 gears 7.3 (8,800 GVWR) back when it had 220,000 miles on it. 244,000 now. Gets 15 around town carrying 1,000 lbs of pool chemicals. Gets 20 on the interstate @ about 75mph. I bought a 08 6.4 F-250 4 door 2wd automatic 3.73 gears (9,800 GVWR). I initially got 9.5 to 11.5 mpg around town. At just over 6,000 miles it bumped up to 12.5 to 13.3 mpg around town. At that time 9it got 16mpg @ 70mph on the interstate highway only. I made one trip at 66 mph on cruise and the mileage kept climbing until 21.2 mpg. If I pulled off the interstate further than I could throw a rock the mileage drops like a rock. I love the truck. I buy one...pay for 5 years and drive it for 10. I average 22,000 miles per year. That should easily be within the life of my truck. Do I wish the mileage was better? You bet! Would I buy a Dodge or Chevy? Nope... Drove both...not bad trucks ... just not what I liked. Dodge has a great motor but the body feels, sounds, looks and is flimsy in comparison. I still like the truck but didin't like the feel. The Chevy just didn't have enough room. Stopped right there with it. I even drove the Toyota gas motor full size. Tons of power but had a cheap look on the inside of the truck. It was a very nice truck but I wanted the longevity of a diesel. I have about 17,000 miles on my 6.4. At 36,000 it will probably lose it's dpf and get a 5" exhaust. Will check mileage figures then.
Had a 7.3 got a 6.4 wish I had a 7.3 again!

I have had more problems with my new 6.4L than I can count. Anyone else out there having issues? Ford is now denying my warranty because of my AFE intake. Any help out there?

Sorry, I am barely able to squeeze 13 mpg on average if I drive like grand-ma. About 6 mpg when towing.
