As I said,  not many people know about it.  Dont give a *** what you punks think,  They DO own cummins, and always have.  This argument has been going on in more than this joke of a forum,  and sooner or later it comes out that were right.  Whatever, dont effect me who know's it and who doesnt.  I was there when we got the cummins in our trucks, non of you were.  So go on thinking what you want.  YOUR WRONG.  

show me proof that ford OWNS cummins like said above years ago ford bought stock in cummins to keep them going but have since sold it back. just cause ford offers a cummins in the f-650 and in the superduty down in south america does not mean they own cummin either. show me some proof that they do. also you call us punks cause we know the facts over the rumors that ford owns cummins

I used to just post a link to the Cummins FAQ section that explained, straight from the horses mouth, that Ford owns NO part of Cummins, but they took it down. So I ended up emailing Cummins several months ago the last time this "debate" came up. This is the Cummins PR guy's response:

Ford does not own Cummins. We've gotten that question a few times, though I'm not really sure why. Ford is a customer of ours.

Cummins is a public company whose stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol CMI.

Actually, Ford has been developing their own diesel engine to "replace" the Navistar-built Power Stroke. It has been called the Scorpion in-house. It's a V-8 that displaces 6.7 liters. It sounds like a damned impressive engine (390 horsepower and 720 pounds-feet) and is expected to get 3mpg better fuel mileage than the current 6.4L.  

You see that stuff is out there but so many people wanna believe the first thing they here. It pisses me off because thats not the truth its a rumor. PLEASE READ THE FACTS PEOPLE DONT JUST POST CRAP

i hope by saying "THEYRE" engine in the '10 model you  mean the engine FORD is building because it is not going to be cummins!!!! however i do wish that would happen. but its not. if you want a ford with a cummins better get up with destroked.com!!!!!!  

Ford is building their own diesel a 6.7 Scorpion diesel that is a V8.... Yea the displacement of the Cummins and the Scorpion diesel are the same but they are two entirly different engines. I researched all of this and will have links soon. Stop this Ford owns Cummins crap cause it aint true!  

sounds good just because someone brought stock in a company they would have to buy most of it to own another company.  Did they all get the ballout they wanted i believe it was a waste of money they should have given it to the people all U.S legal citizens that  way they could pay off there mortages, pay off car loans, buy new cars, build new houses, send kids to school, pay for medical bills, all of this would have put a much better chance of the ecnomony back into action get the american out of dept not just make rich people rich again while they still lay off workers and then they lose there houses, cars My good friends just got laid off and if it doesnt turn around i will be had 5yrs of people beat now just 2 months worth of them beat then im out the door that money didnt help me havent seen a damn dime of it yet neither have my friends either what a gov't got a little carried away again  

that $700 billion should have gone to the american people atleast that way then people could pay their bills and buy stuff they want like new tvs and such
