yeah the tranny on the 5.9 cummins dually goes out first and the motor will still run strong. if it does go out on you don't the same mistake my neighbor made and bring it to someone not certified in fixin' trannies cause a couple months later it gave out on the highway when he was going 60 and everything just locked up.

Nice!! I'm coming across a lot of six-figure Cummins. I know there are some high-mileage 7.3 Power Strokes out there too. Any high-mileage Duramaxes or 6.0s? Just curious.

We had a Duramax come in last night that had 212,000 on all the factory parts. The truck ran great, had a few leaks, but it was pretty clean overall.

wow thats a first, i think part of the reason that not many 6.0s dont have over 200000 yet is that theyre not old enough yet, im sure theyre out there though

Yea this was a 2002 LB7 Duramax owned by an older fellow that towed his camper all around the country. He is a local and his truck was one of the first 2002s sold here.

86 f250 4x4. just about 730,000. original engine. replaced injector pump twice, injectors once, mechanical lift pump once, water pump once, alternator once, all four brake pads once. Of course it is weak now, and smokes a little, but still would take it anywhere with no fears of breaking down.

1997 7.3 passed on to my son. Now has 244,000. Has had clutch @ 106K (no more dual mass got Dial-A-Clutch Assy) , Ball Joints @ 212K, Fuel Filter Assy (leaked)@ 220K, fuel pump (220K), brakes 2 X a year (mostly city driving), carries 1,000 lbs of pool chemicals all the time. Still gets better mileage than my 2008 6.4 which has 18K on it now.
Had a 7.3 got a 6.4 wish I had a 7.3 again!

1997 F250 HD now has 311,000 miles and still going strong. I'm the third owner and have some things to the truck: K and N intake, 4 inch cat-back exhaust, chip from suncoast performance.
