nmlakerat is right about what he said. the way it does regen is it actually dumps more fuel into the motor to raise the egts causeing the soot to burn off so no risk of anything catching fire if its removed. the check engine light will come on if you dont have a programmer that can shut it off but it wont go into limp mode or anything u'll just have to look at the light (or put some electrical tape over it
