has anyone else had a problem with Elite Diesels' VGT-SS? I have gone through 3 of them and my latest one has blown up again and Brandon @ Elite says he will take care of me but everytime the "inspect" the turbo they tell me it is my fault and will not replace it. I still cant fiqure out how I messed it up with an electrical plug, 2 mounting bolt and a blot for the oil tube what is there to mess up? At $2300.00 dollars apiece this is a real screwing. they promote the turbo @ 575 HP I'm close to 600 Im jsut driving the truck like I bought parts for it to do?

for your 7.3- 4 or 5 inch exhaust BHAF or cold air intake by afe and a dp tuner and you will have a different truck power wise. good luck oh and leave it strait piped you will love the way it sounds if you like to hear the turbo it sounds great not to loud.

i have an 02 f250cclb and pull about the same weight with it as you do. i went with banks for all power upgrades only because they are one of the only manufacturers of multiple power upgrades you can buy direct from. this way if anything goes wrong, you get to deal direct with them not an idiot at a parts counter. i got the 6gun tuner, intake, 4" stainless monster exhaust, and trans-command. all of which i installed myself all at once.
the exhaust was an awesome fit once i got the stock stuff out of the way. if you don't want to take the tranny xmember off to get downpipe off, just cut the stock one in half cause the banks one goes right back in. the rest of the stuff was easy do-it-yourself install too.

I've got a 02 powerstroke 7.3L with a edge programmer on it and it runs great. I had the exhaust come out in front of the back tire and the turbo sounds wicked. As far as programmers go its just what u want really. Intake wise go with afe.

I've got a 2000 7.3 with banks everything and from what I understand from my other mechanic friends is that you want to stay away from big boost and lots of fuel. banks is expensive but they offer warranty unmatched by any other like bullydog and edge. and if over 120,xxx miles stay away from edge it makes too much power and unlike banks has no trans upgrade built-in to the programmer.

IMO banks sucks. there are better products out there that are cheaper and put out more power.

The list

tymar DIY intake
CCV(crank case vent) mod
any 4" or 5" exhaust you want
Compressor wheel upgrade
gauges
bts or jw valve body and a new trans pan
dp-tuner

you don't have to do the ccv mod but if you plan on get a new innercooler you will want to do it

price $1,400 to $2,000 or more

yeah and you figure everything there $1,400-$2,000 and banks price for their powerpack system for my 97 7.3 was $1,600, and everything listed above would give you alot more hp

The one thing Banks does well, and I've yet to find anyone that says otherwise, is their intercoolers. In fact, I know of a lot of guys that run other guys' programmers and components, but have a Banks intercooler.
