If I got a mega cab would the bed be to small to put a tool box/fuel tank? Im kind of worried if I got the mega cab that the bed would be useless if I put a 2 foot box in the bed. Should I just go with a Quad Cab Long Box..we take alot of trips and I want the back to be comfortable enough for the people in the back..thanks

Just depends on what you use the truck for. Mine is a quad cab shortbed and I have a toolbox in it and ill tell ya there isnt much room in there lol. I also know that the bed on the megacabs is just a little shorter than your average shortbed. If you need space in your bed with a toolbox get a long bed. If you really want a megacab look in to finding one that has a long bed conversion.

In my opinion I picture the mega the diesel version of a dodge caravan with a truck bed, and a diesel of course. There is so much room is those things. The quad cab, it's roomy too, but it's definitely not as comfortable as the front seats.

Do you think I would notice it being smaller than my 2001 f150 super crew..also the 4 door?

I've ridden in a Super Crew and the rear is about the same as the Chevy and Dodge, within a few inches.
If you need the rear space, get the Mega and throw on the long bed conversion. If the extra fuel capacity is also something you're looking at, the Mega should also accept the aftermarket bolt on fuel tanks, like Titan to name the one I can remember off the top of my head. You should be able to do the 55 gallon version, but might need to make sure you can do the 72 gallon version.

I do love the mega cab long box but I'm not about to spend 6 grand on a long box converstion..I am going to try and find a quad cab long box..and try that thing out and if the cab is to small I might have to get a GMC..unless there is a way to mount a seperate tank under the bed..not just a larger one.

why do you wanna mount a 2nd tank under the bed when a larger replacment tank does the same job as the 2 tanks?

It is a little small the quad cab dodges have smaller back seats then say a ford or chev. I have to slide my seat foward to give some extra room for passengers

I really think I might just go with the mega cab...I only think the qcab long box looks good lifted with stacks..So I think ill get the mega cab and then if I need a back up fuel tank ill get a thin on that bolts against the front of the bed under the rear window..or where the spare tire is because the stock would be useless anyways..

There are some under-floor extended-range fuel tanks that will still give you all your bed space. You don't necessarily have to give up your bed to have a longer range.

my brother in law has a quad cab and im 6'1 and i have plenty of room in the back seat. not saying the mega cab isnt way roomier but the quad cab seems to have enough room for me. and if i remember correctly the mega cabs bed is the same length as a standard short bed.
