Ok so my truck has the edge jucie n attitude. It does 0-60 in 7.4 this is sad. Could i be making to much boost? Is 42 normal? Does boost raise your RPM? Anyone got a cummins with an edge on it? Should i not just hold it to the floor? It seems to not have as much power wide open + hits 3250rpm. I need to keep it bellow 2900. How can i accomplish this. Thanks

42 psi isn't excessive for a Cummins. It's only "too much" boost if you're not running enough fuel to take advantage of it. Sounds like a more optimized torque converter would lower your 0-60 and quarter times significantly. Not only that, if you've hot-rodded it a little, it's probably not a bad idea to upgrade your converter anyway.

Would a FASS fuel system, or whatever that is, take care of that? I do think its starving for fuel. When the boost is at 42 it shutters/lags a little.

Well I can see that first off your confused about how a turbo works. A turbo will NOT over boost in the sense that it pushes more air than there is fuel to burn it (unless it is surging). A turbo needs heat to work. The more heat, the more boost, the more fuel the more heat. The turbo only provides enough boost to burn the fuel that is in the cylinder. Unless you are throwing so much fuel at it the turbo can't keep up. For a site with some really good turbo information go to turbobygarret.com and hit up their tech section.
Why would you want to stack a Smarty? You are already overfueled. The Smarty will make it worse.
I would agree with esanchez. Definetly do some tranny work. A more efficient trany will reduce slippage and it will probably shift sooner. Torque Converter and Valve body would be the two things I would do first.
A Fass won't help you much. Not at this stage anyways.

An afe intake, and strait pipe got me 6.4. It is quite noticable. Egt came down a little bit. Its of to the Tranns shop i guess. I think ill just tell them my goals and let them do their thing. I want this truck to be a 10 sec truck but still be a daily driver lol.

to be a 10 second truck, youre gonna need a set of stage 6 injectors and a really big turbo if not twins, to run that fast in this heavy of vehicle, you better be making 700+ at the rear wheels, not hard, just *** plus youre probably gonna need dual cp3s and a fass 150 hpfp pump. 6.4 0-60 aint too shabby though, mine would probably do that if it werent for the driver(aka ME, i just cant shift fast enough and i tend to miss a shift, usually 4th to 5th)
1999 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Cummins 24 valve, 5spd with south bend 550hp+ clutch, 150 horse injectors, Fram Boost intake(for now), Edge Juice with attitude, 150 gph fass fuel pump and much more, all together 450 dyno proven HP and 1170 ft lbs. DPMAG May Ride of the Month
and a quote from Dmax007- this site is entirely the blind leading the blind. nobody on this site has the balls to stand up to this stupid blowin smoke gang. got news for you, i do.

I agree with sanchez and kazaril do some tranny work. A torque converter alone can take almost a whole second off your 0-60. Not only that your truck will kick alot harder too, and give it a different tone, deeper tone, it's amazing. You will also need a deep tranny pan. Look at my signiture and you will see what I have and to keep my tranny cool thats all I have and it does AMAZING!!! It's a double deep, holds 2 gallons My 0-60 right now is about 4.1 with a regular smarty revo tuner (soon to be TNTR, I am not even running my stack chips anymore and didn't turn on my methanol, I get my injectors and valve springs next week. So I should be in the 3's hopefully.
I personally wouldn't worry about the RPM's unless you get a smarty and put the rev limiter to 4000 then you will need valve springs.
Here is what I would do. Get that tranny work done, I would recommend Goerend Transmission components. They are launch trucks with 1300rwhp and nothing is breaking so they are stout bro. Once you're done with that, Get a lift pump, I like Airdog 150/150 cheaper than fass, just as good, comes with all three filters and it's a lifetime warranty. However just because you have a lift pump doesn't mean you can stack chips and run the piss out of it. If you do you're gonna smoke your CP3, I would seriously recommend a either a modified CP3 or duals, I am running a modified at the moment. Floor it diesel makes a good one, he is somewhat slow but yeah. Idustrial Injection has some too but they stole Floor It's design considering he made them for him. The key thing here is rail pressure. If it's low you can burn stuff up and ruin components. If it's working way to hard then ALOT of heat will be generated. Don't do injectors yet because yours will be fine for awhile. plus if you buy injectors before you do methanol, intercooler, and a Turbo, and NOS even. You're gonna melt your motor and I have heard thats bad so yeah, hahaha
Just PM me or something we can talk. I can write a whole book here on what you need to do,
