Well the time is coming for me to buy a truck I want a mega cab and a 5.9L..the only problem is they are getting hard to find..I can find like 20 local 6.7s...im thinking if I took of the DPF and did some minor preformance upgrades that I could get some pretty good MPG..also the 6 speed tranny seems to be better for mpg than the 4 speed...any one have any experience

Depends on where you are in the States.
I just bought both of my Dodges from Dave Smith Motors in northern Idaho. I got a sweet deal on my '06, and my '08 3500 longbed will cost me less than my '03 did in June of last year.
With the '03 as a trade-in and all the incentives on the '08, it would make you sick what I paid for it.
www.davesmith.com 1-800-635-8000, ask for Kevin in used vehicle sales.
Tell him I bought the black '06 from him in late August and he should remember me.

Yeah, the car dealers are hurtin' right now, so if you can get a smokin' deal on an '08 6.7, go for it. Just realize if you take the DPF off, your warranty is essentially voided.
