Why is it that every 6.5 article that has been promised lately has never been done?
You guys started on a 6.5 buildup and then we never heard about it again. You were going to do an article on Ian's 300 HP 6.5 and it is not in the newest issue as promised.
The magazine has become nothing more than a set of exhaust and tuner install articles and thousands of pages of advertisements. Not to mention pictures of trucks that some kid had his mommy and daddy pay for.
What a joke! I think I will be letting my subscription run out - there is nothing worth reading in your magazines anymore. I know I am not the only one who feels this way.

I have noticed that there are a lot of advertisments, over half of the magazine! But I guess that is what helps pay the bills...

Everyone has their own opinion, but i cant say i agree with you. There are a few diesel mags out there now, and i read em all, but diesel power is by far the best. You never know whats in the works as far as feautres go, it might just be taking them a while to get it put together. As far as the exhaust and tuner articles, its not like they're doing the same brands, they are all different. I know what you mean cause it can get redundant but you gotta remember they gotta appeal to everyone, not just you or me, and there are a lot of people that are just getting diesels and are interested in those aricles. The one thing that does bother me is the little rich kids, but if its a nice ride, then i guess its not our place to say what can and cant go in the magazine, im 21 and live on my own and pay ALL my own bills, but if my parents offered to pay for new truck parts i sure as hell wouldnt turn it down...all i can say is lucky f***ers and great mag diesel power!

Some good points you make, but you should rethink about your decision.
Sure, some of the features in this magazine are a little bit out of reach for the average reader, but so are most of the supercars like Ferrari or Porsche in any general automobile magazine. Ads pay the bills, you can't avoid them because this is how our economy works in a heavily capitalist market.
As for the features, sometimes they can be repetitive, but if you read about them closely and understand the different amounts of crazy ways people use mod their diesels, things ain't so bad.

HI GUYS, REMEMBER there aren't to many different diesel trucks !!! So you will be reading alot of story about the BIG 3 TRUCKS getting up-grades. Each article will alway be different, I always learn some-thing new. And my truck is stock, except for the K&N air-filter. But I get to read how people spend $$$ up-grading their truck, There is not another magazine that is any better !!!

My main beef is that they continue to promise articles in future/next issues and those features never show up!
Where is the 300HP 6.5 that was promised last month? It was supposed to be in this month's issue....yeah right!
MaxxTorque is a far better magazine for delivering what they promise....even though they are dedicated to the GM Diesel crowd (DMAX, 6.5, 6.2).
Diesel World is a decent mag as well.
Diesel Power is getting too many advertisements and not enough delivered promises!

Man no offense or anything, but the old 6.5 and 6.2 aint all that great. I understand your point, but the majority of people reading this magazine have a d-max, cummins, or powerstroke. I'd say very few have the 6.5 or 6.2, and thats the reason you don't see any articles over them.
99 2500 Cummins 5-speed. AEM cold air intake, EDGE EZ box, straight piped, and much more to come in the future.

...and mostly Cummins driven trucks. I guess the Fords and Chevy's aren't worth modding that much huh?
Thanks!

They can only print what they find, so i guess there arent enough of yall building badass fords and chevys, which i know aint true, so yall need to find out the magazine guys and get your awesome fords and chevys in the mag! And as far as the old 6.2 and 6.5 builds, if they aint done they cant run them. Some of the projects at the off road magazines can take more than a year or two to finish. Yall didnt finish none of yalls projects in a few months did you, you cant expect them to either.

exactly, give them a break, although i do agree, the half magazine of advertisements is getting old. but as far as project vehicles are concerned, it takes a while, espeically dealling with the crappy 6.2 and 6.5 which very few aftermarket companies make many upgrades for in the first place.

My two cents is theres a lot of differant kinds of equipment out there running diesels and I used to read the mag untel it turned into a truck mag for 5 in exh and elect programmers instead of diesel engines.
A real toy for big boys.I installed a 5.9-B Cummins, P-7100 inline stage one pump, banks cooler,5in exh, removable air bags for towing, 1in body lift,2in hanger lift,2 12in elect fans, customized mounting,(eng mounts, intake piping, trans adapter etc) Runs on home made bio-fuel at 70 cents a Gal.

I think diesel mag does a good job. One thing they do that other diesel mags dont is talk about the Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel. They did some great mods and are trying to get performance products made for it...I got to give them thumbs up on that!

WOW! A guy asks an honest ? concerning his interest and a bunch of single sperm doners w/fat bankers or parents chime in. The Dodge guys can't understand why you don't just shut-up and take out a $40,000 loan buy a new cummins truck then max-out 3 differant credit card "tunning and chipping" it. The Ford guys can't belive that someone could be SOOO! Stupid as to buy a 6.5 - 6.2. Heres some food for thought Rich Boys, guys like Chris and I have families, houses, cars, and bills. I know you don't know what a "Bill" is, just ask your mommy or daddy. The same crap gets posted any time someone asks a ? about the IDI Fords. Some tunner wanders away from his end of the pool and wants to ridicule guys who accualy work on their trucks and can't just download HP. Stay in the shallow end where you belong children, your smooth manicured hands won't keep you a-float at this end. Chris, heres the deal, the sponsers of this mag are into "new" diesels. They know that if you can afford to buy one, you can afford their bolt-ons and plug-ins. If you want to make decent power, get educated on what makes you engine work best and get busy. I sugest A Haynes manuel or other suitable book that gives detailed breakdowns of the engines. Until then keep reading, if you don't suport this mag when it's not getting to what you want, how can you expect them care when it's time. Joe, 5.7, 6.2, 6.5, 6.5TD, 7.3IDI owner/builder.
