You will only lift a valve when you're reving to 4000 or so.  Thats what the valve springs are for, to prevent that.  You will be fine without o-ringing the head on 65to70psi.  I am getting that off of 1 turbo.  In all actuality I am lowering my psi simply because I need more duration is what diesels need.  I am going to be running at around 45-50 psi and putting almost a 1000hp to the wheels once I get my nitrous on there.  I am already beating 12 second cars pretty easy.

A head gasket is a head gasket by the way, I don't know what would make a gasket an aftermarket.

You haven't had problems simply because you're VERY lucky you haven't lifted your head.  40psi they will lift.  Sometimes they don't but it's only a matter of tie.  Another thing too, if you plan on doing nitrous, as I am doing.  You better get better studs, the cylinder pressure will lift the head too.  Just for future reference.

Are you gonna dump more fuel too?  if so you're gonna need to run duels if you upgrade injectors.  You're melt your motor.

I have heard from every knowledgable diesel mechanic that if you're running over 40lbs then you need studs, it's just the safest way to do it and there is no sense in doing it.  There is no point in risking tearing up these INCREDIBLY expensive rides.  With the cost of mine and the amount of upgrades I have in it.  I am driving a 66000 dollar daily driver.

But anyways, you have quite a rig there by the way.  surely your running more air than just that exhaust turbo, intake and manifold right?  You do have an intercooler and water meth too.  I hope so

Big,

Just because you're running 48psi with no issues with stock head bolts doesn't mean someone else will be able to do the same.  Remember, you're the exception not the rule.

I'd rather tell someone to spend an extra few dollars just to rule out any issues than to watch them turn around and spend 8 to 10 grand on a rebuild.

Know what I mean ?

So what I would do is this.  Put on the Smarty, once the smarty do the torque converter and valve body and while you're at it do the input shaft at least especially if you're gonna take it to the strip thats your weekpoint.
