i disagree with the glow plugs being exspensive... you can buy one for 20 bux at napa here... and the only thing is the change... that takes some time... so what you do is replace all of them when one goes out... that way you dont have to tare down 8 difrent times if they all go out replace them all if one goes out... 160 bux and some knowledge on tareing down a 6.0L anyway and youll be fine. im sure you meant good D-Max ben but the cummins have a heater someware in the motor to make it start better... im not quite sure ware its at... but it is way better then a glow plug... one more good thing about the 6.4L is there PIEZO injectors... 6.0L had troubles with there injectors... ford made up for it with these ones. i have the book on the 6.4L here in front of me... if you want to know anything else about them just ask me... the step in the tailgate will be seller to the older folk looking to buy a pickup... it is kind of a newsence for the younger people though... cause when your on the job the tailgate is the bench... but now with the bar across it the tailgate is not a very functional bench. the next great thing is the towing capability... for the 350... the best in class towing fifth wheel weight is at a pretty amazing 18,700 lbs 15000 lbs conventional towing... and 5670 payload now the 450 is even better... almost 25000 towing capability fifth wheel and 16000 conventional... and 6120 patload... These heavier weight capabilities make it pull bigger haveier stuff better... but the draw back is the ride is going to be a little rougher... my theroy is if you want a comfy ride go with a cadillac... and caddillac dont make a pickup do they... o and for the off road part you want you will want to go with the FX4 edition... thats fords off road edition pickup... someone recomended the king ranch to you... i dont becasue thats an extra 5000 you will pay for a lil better looking interior... nothing else is diffrent from the king ranch to the lariat... except the interior... waste of money if you ask me.

08 the dodge has a ceramic heater in the intake. but they dont really need them to start. and i wasnt talking about the cost of the glow plug itself. guess what you get to do if the tip of one breaks off when removing it. and i have seen it happen to the best of mechanics. you get to pull the heads off. now on a 6.0 psd that requires removal of the body. i know 94-97 psd the body can be left on not sure about newer 7.3s and never cared enough about a izuzu to find out. and ford did not make good on the piezo injectors its all still built by intertrashional

HEY sandsliger, Are you trying to scare me !! I don't know how to fix my own truck. All I do is change the oil every 4,000 miles and clean the K&N air-filter every 12,000 miles. Anything else happens, the FORD goes to the DEALER. I was going to test-drive the FORD F250 4X4 today, but my buddies call me to go shooting in the FLORIDA EVERGLADES, maybe I'll get to test drive the FORD next week. Since I don't know how to turn a wench, I need a truck that won't break-down !! and give my high MPG. THANK YOU for all the helpful replys

the king ranch is not a 5k option... they are priced about the same... now if you like the black interior go for the FX4 but the King Ranch is just a luxury truck man its damn nice. Granted you get the same options interior and amenities wise but the king ranch is what we have had a corvette traded on for and a guy in a Bentley look at buying. Its up to you, theres not alot of ride difference between the two the FX4 might be a little better but i actually don't recall if they are using the Rancho Shocks anymore.
you have already said yourself you dont need it to be fast or anything haha but you gotta admit the MEGACAB is pretty badass... its so big your gonna get lost in it
i want a cummins...
or a 06 GTO...
or a 06 GTO with a cummins

Sorry gun not tryin to scare you just want you to be well informed. I know you want a new truck who doesnt , but im kinda with the other guys on just doin a few things to your current one. That 7.3 is just a pup. Its really up to you on what you buy. The best thing to do is find where the service techs park at the dealer and se what they drive. Here in southern oregon if you go to the dodge dealer all the techs drive cummins. The chevy dealer drive anything but a chevy and same with ford. you might see a few fords from the mid 80s but nothing newer. But its a good way to get a unbias judgement. what are the roads like in the glade where you go shooting? you might want to lay down on the ground and check out how low the frame and crossmembers are on the chevy. if you dont want to lift a chevy i dont recomend taking it of the pavement. My dad has a 07 gmc and all the crossmembers are beat to *** from hunting this year. The chevys will knock bottom on a tic tac.

HI sandsliger, I'm back from the FLORIDA EVERGLADES, I was shooting two of my 50 BMG into a hill. Almost forgot about the truck I'm looking to buy. I'm not going to buy a CHEVY/GMC, because of that damn ONSTAR, IFS, ALUMINUM HEADS. Sorry if I hurt ben's feelings. MY 1999 F250 space-cab 7.3 is a 2WD !! Sometime my [bald rear tires start spinning in the mud, and I fear I'm going to get stuck] Luck for me that I don't have to pull NOAH'S ARK out of the chute. I want a 4X4 !!!!

HI needpower, My 1999 7.3 has 128,500 miles and hasn't really given me alot of trouble, but damn it it's a 2WD. I agree with you, about the 6.0 but my cousin loves his 2006 F250 with the 6.0 I have already ruled out CHEVY, because of the ONSTAR !! Now I have to make up my mind DODGE or FORD !!

onstar can help you if your truck got stolen, i mean if i was buying a brand new chevy and spending that much money. the 6.o is fine if you leave it stock and dont hot rod it, once you start adding chips and racing it then it will break stuff

HEY needpower, What happened to the law, in the old west, that if you stole a man's horse (the ride they had back then) you would be hanging from a tree. If we had those laws today you would be able to leave your keys in the truck !!!!!!
