Hi, i have a really interesting question out there that someone maybe can help me with.
I installed an 83 6.2 diesel into a 1995 chev 3500 that originally had a 6.5(toasted it, broke the crank inbetween throws). i installed all the 6.5 accessories on it and am using the 4l80e tranny that came with the 95.
I am using a ecm from a 93 chev 2500 that was used to run the transmission, another 4l80 e and had a 6.5 ahead of it
right now i am using my water pump pulley as the source for the trigger, and have modified it by welding 4 tabs around the circumfrence and using a magnetic trigger to pick up the signal....
does anyone know how to get it to read proper engine speed instead of overspeed by using this same pulley, or can i somehow use the tach signal from the alternator to use as a crank trigger signal
i have tried to use the alternator already, but it works on a variable resistance/ voltage circuit. the crank trigger signal for the 93 ecm uses a pulse circuit by taking the number of times the sensors tripped over time to get the rpm signal
any help with this would be greatly appreciated, as i am a student on a student budget lol
thanks
Randy
