Has anyone read anything about a new filtration system for diesal exhaust that is supposed to be far superior to anything that is currently in production engines?

Diesel exhaust aftertreatment and emissions is a constantly-evolving landscape. I think the key thing engineers are working on is cutting down on the restriction in the exhaust system while minimizing particulate and NOX emissions. I know starting in 2010, urea injection is going to become pretty widespread to meet the 2010 NOX requirements. I'm sure we're going to see many breakthroughs in the years ahead in this area.
