Hey, getting ready to do my first oil change to my Duramax. What is everyone;s thoughts/ experiences with amsoil synthetic motor oils and amsoil oil filters.?  

love the stuff will never go back to pet.oil give them enough money to the oil industries.  

how well do you like your fs 2500 bypass filter and pros and cons of it

Amsoil makes a great product! I sell more Amsoil products, particularly the 15W40 Diesel oil than any other. I have compared the oil against Shell's Rotella and Fleetguard 15W40 and the Amsoil 15W40 greatly excelled. (All things considered, the others are not synthetic). The vehicle was a 2005 Cummins w/558hp and 1057tq. The Rotella didn't take the intense heat created by the power. When drained after 5000 miles, the oil broke down and fluidity was gravely diminished. The oil came out like tar. Under the same circumstances, the Amsoil drained much like any 15W40 would under normal usage. Even though it had been subjected to severe service!  

i tried to buy amsoil online today and when i went to check out it said because i was a new user i needed dealer info or something to buy. did i read this right?? i am 500 over my change interval. whats a good oil fotr inbetween??
