my brother in-law had his 6.0 powerst replaced at 84,000mi and now the new engine is broken again at 36,000mi and ford isn't giving him warranty because of some stupid oil cooler that they say caused the engine to overheat and is not under warranty, they are charging him 5,000. if you dont care about stuff like that it might be a good deal because not all the 6.0 have trouble.

Its really a hit and miss with the 6.0 some one correct me if i'm wrong but their head bolts were weak and the EGR Valve cooler would like to take a poop on you as well now the trans is probably the best thing on the truck if its an auto but ultimately is your money and your decision so do what you like

ok so say i bought this truck and the 6.0 sucked buttcrack, then what, i sure as hell do not want to have to keep having it rebuilt every 30,000. it is a nice truck though.

i had friends that have the 6.0 trucks and only one had problems they all had programmers in 2 of the trucks had to have new tc and vb but i think alot of that was the way they drove them the other had to have the head gasket replaced pulled the turner out ford did it under warranty wasnt a issue they might not want to do it vary offten. All the guy said was did he have it turned up he said no just intake and exhuate till it went out of warranty he said ok i dont know if he really wanted to know or not.

Well, a lot of Super Duty guys have swapped Cummins into their trucks. That's always an option if you like the capability and size of the truck, but don't want to deal with headaches related to the Power Stroke.

ok so i went to test drive this truck. first off i believe it had a rear main leak. second when you got it up to about 45mph it sounded like someone was pickin guitar strings really i was looking for someones cell phone that maybe got left in it. 3rd there was like a thump or rubbing sound from the right front i think is where it was coming from. but the damn guitar pickin was killin me. i could not find it anywhere

STAY AWAY FROM A 6.0! either go brand new 6.4 of 7.3 im not a big ford fan but i dont mind the 7.3 motor at all. i know the guitar sound your talking about, i believe thats the turine compressor housing is loose. when it spins, it rattles the main compressor bolt against the housing. now the cumins 47re is a piece and granted the fords are huge (interior) but the motor is just a piece of junk. the only thing that motor had is on the 05' the turbo sounds sick! until it explodes

id take a 6.0 over the 6.4 atleast then you would get some better mpg. but if your really looking for an f-450-550 look for a 7.3
1997 f-250 7.3 powerstroke. just another old truck making big power hahaha my lug nuts need more torque then what your honda makes
