Who else HATES TOYOTA as much as me? They are crappy  trucks, mad in a freakin foriegn country, that dont run worth a #$%^ unless you sink money into them. Stick with american steel like a 1977 Chevy K30. My brother bought a 5th hand Toyota a while back. It has ended up in my grandmas barn, with two flat tires, and a Fuel Pump that has "given out". He cant even find a replacement because every guy with a Toyota has got every one off of every junkyard in a 10 sq. mile area because they always give out.  

Well TOYOTA trucks are being made in the USA, but I still don't like them, I had one, the door was so thin, that I can push duramax ben threw it, I once put some stepping stones, and the body drop, and pin the tires, another time I was driving and it short-circuit and caught fire, the interior was cramped for the wife, son and me, and we're skinny. The only good thing I can say is good MPG.  

they have come out with a diesel that i think will be out be 09.  

Ouch.You say all this and youre dream truck is going to have a cummins that has so many countries involved it should be called the UN.You need to do some checking on are American made veh and there imported medal,parts,tooling,electronics and the use of other countries cheap labor of rebuilt parts.You also need to look over your 77 chevy real good,You might find some japan made brk pads, stereo,speakers,light bulbs,tires,oil,grease and yes call a manufacturing company and you will find imported steal!I woulnt own a Toyota if American made veh were truly American.Toyota Landcruizer had diesel eng options for many years.Mine had the F3 gasser and I wanted a Cummins So as an American I installed one.

I've actually had pretty good luck with Japanese cars. I don't really care for Toyotas too much personally. My worst car was German.  

I put over 300thou on my Toyota pickup with a 22R eng,running up and down I-70 of Colorado doing 65 mph up to Eisinour tunnel(Im pretty sure I misspelled the tunnels name).Off roading mining, wagon trailes where only jeeps broncos and toyotas could go do to the width and highth of other trucks.only reason for not still having the truck is a roll over.The 22R is only a 4 cyl that will out run most six cyl.  

I hate Toyota!!! With a passion. I had some retard in a new Tundra try to race me the other day. My Edge was on level 3 and i no longer have my Bully Dog. The dumass went blowin past me and at the next stop light he revved his *** like it was fast. I just laughed and off the light i burned the 35s a lil bit and blew a good size cloud of smoke and the next light he had his windows rolled up and wouldnt even pull even with me. I agree with sandslinger, Toyota needs to get out of NASCAR its national racing and a lot of boys like mines roots to see CHEVY, FORD AND DODGE on the track not some japanesse brand out there. What does Toyota mean in japanesse anyways?!? I would guess S H I T  

I was fortunate enough to order my truck directly from dodge in november of 05... My "domestic" truck was built in mexico. Love my truck, but just thought I would throw that out there.

Have you seen the commercial where the guy says "get in", then comes back towing a bobcat. notice how the bobcat is loaded!!!  All the weight is on the back of the trailer !!!
I bet this truck would ride on the rims if any weight was put on the tounge!!! All this truck is good for is bringing groceries home, or a couple 2x4's !!!! What a weekend worrior!!!!

lol but there commercials seem so fake its unreal... I hate there marketing strategy at least dodge is laid back and conservative on what the vehicle can do. I really know(and we all know) how capable they really are and the weights Ford/Chevy put up you know that vehicle is working its but off.  

Seriously, how dumb are you OldChevyDiesel. That you dont know that Tundra's are built in America, just strengths my impression of you. What went wrong in your life, since you have too *** about Toyota like that? Why do I even spend my time replying!
Anyway, the rest of the world knows something that Americans apparently dont know: Toyotas are built to last. See South America, Toyotas. Africa, Toyotas. Australia, Toyotas.

i own a toyota tacoma, my sister owns a camry, and many of my friends all own tacomas as well. while i am not debating that they are LIGHT duty trucks and as such won't tow a buldozer, they can run circles around a big fullsize diesel rig offroad. their key is just how light they are, they are built for the average person who more likely than not, never have to tow something more than like a 4 wheeler.

to be completely honest 4 flat tires seems like an operator problem, and a blown out water pump, well that is usually the first mechanical thing to go out in most trucks anyway, i bet ya it probably got a good 100k miles before that went out as well.

and to compare it to a big cummins dodge, or powerstroke or duramax is like comparing an apple and an orange. they are different trucks built for very different purposes. aside from that if you look in the foreign markets toyotas are one of the most common vehicles out there. and they make diesel engines for alot of their vehicles out there as well.

picking on a brand that is foreign made, for the simple reason that it is foreign made is just stupid. like it was previously said i bet there are very few 100% american or otherwise vehicles anywhere.

i personally love my tacoma and has been the LEAST expensive vehicle i have ever owned...

transmission failures
rear driveshaft u joint failures
rubberband frame
bed bounce issue at highway speeds
paint rubbing off dash
tailgates cracking under the weight of a ATV
stereo shutting off by itself
traction control that will stall the vehicle when pulling a boat out of the water

its the truck that changing it all !!!
