i have a 1992 dodge 12 valve cummins . and i was wondering the max boost that i could make?? i heard 30psi but i want to know just how much i can make. i have a 18cm turbo on it. i have started to grind the fuel pin on it. befor i ground the pin i was makeing 19-20psi. and now im makeing 27-28psi. and befor i grind anymore i want to know the boost. i dotn want to blow a head gasket on it.
1992 dodge W350 4X4 5spd 12 valve 226000 miels, 5in stacks, custom fuel pin, smoke screw truned all the way in, star wheel truned all the way, 3200 gov spring, 18cm2 turbo. 29psi of boost. boost and pyro gauges. K&N air filter

does your boost needle stay at 0 until your truck is about to change gears or is a steady number? mine sits at 0 unitl right before (high rpm) it changes gears.

i have a 5spd and the boost only drops to about 7-10psi. depends on how fast i shift.

That is the downside to a manual tranny. But 35 is the max boost number that the turbo will live at. 30psi is a good stopping point. Boost is back bressure.
