I get your mag and enjoy reading it, especially the old iron section. I read the article on the Dodge steering fix from BD. Now, in the article it says it cures death wobble and that it is the fix for it. I strongly disagree as well as many others. If your truck has death wobble it isnt normal and something is wrong. A steering brace shouldnt be called the fix when it really doesnt do anything but hide death wobble.
I think this needs to be investigated
It also says that death wobble is caused by steering box deflection which again isnt true. Death wobble is caused by bad steering geometry of some sort or even severly out of round tires (interco is famous for this) common causes are ball joins, poor alignment, bad control arm bushings and most importantly the DODGE TRAC BAR. steering shocks may hide it and if you have DW and install this brace you will hide it as well.

First, let me state I didn't read the article, so i have no idea how accurate either Gri's statements about the article are, or how factual the information presented in the article is.
This is just my take on death wobble.
Death wobble can be caused by any number of things. To my knowledge, the common denominators are:
Anything and everything that introduces play into the steering system, and one or more components or situations introducing an Oscillating unbalance.
For example, the inverted y steering Dodge used on some of our trucks effectively places 3 tie rod ends between the two front tires. It doesn't take much wear to occur over those 3 joints, before you have enough play to allow an oscillation to be introduced.
What I think may be important to understand is perhaps an out of round or unbalanced tire, or merely hitting a bump in the road caused the death wobble to appear, but in order for it to exist, some form of play has to exist, and that certainly means any component in the steering system with wear,or play.
In closing, I can see how steering box deflection would also be a cause of death wobble.
