LB7 w/edge juice limp mode on stage 5

I have an 03' duramax LB7 w an edge juice programer and every time im in stage 5 wide open, it locks my tranny in 3rd or 4th gear. All i have to do is shut it down restart and its fine. Check engine light goes off after about 20 miles. Im wondering if theres a way around this or is the allison not strong enough to handle the tourqe?
