New to this forum and website. Some of you may have seen my article on the Jay Leno Garage website pertaining to the proposed ban on leaded race fuel in canada. With everyone's help and support especially all the people at Sema we were able to get a further extension and additional testing to be completed by 2010. Eventually for everyone's health and the environment leaded race fuel will be replaced. Nascar was the first to make a change like this and it will eventually work it's way through the system to other forms of racing but it will take time. Similar in the diesel fuel market we have seen numerous alternative fuels and additives to try to solve not only emission's but putting the needed lubricity back into the fuel. The whole new urea fuild system is ok for new vehicles and has been used in europe who have tougher emission rules and more advanced technology but does nothing for older diesel vehicles and equipment whether construction, farm etc. I have been working on a diesel fuel additive which is european technology and is like no other in north america. We are the only people to have the additive and it is the real deal with complete testing and actual 5 years usage in the european market. I have transport truck customers who have seen immediate 1 mile per gallon increases, along with construction equipment saving 30 litres a day. My personal vehicle is a 2005 F350 1 ton 4 x 4  cab with 8 foot box. 120 litres used to get me 560 kilometers .My fuel milage is now 900 kilometers per tank, with reduced emissions, easier starting, quieter engine , reduced smoke, more power.I also have seen less soot in the engine oil extending my oil changes (Chevron Delo 400 LE 15w-40) combined with filter life and fuel filter life. Product increases cetane upwards to 7 points, and contains no alcohol or ethylene glycol. It also handles water and contains a microbial inhibiter and is up to B20 compatible .It is a one treat rate product. -41C c Pour Point and up to -31C Cold Filter Plug Point. This product has also been tested in over 68 types of north american fuel. Some of you who have travelled to Ontario Canada may have seen the articles in the several trucking/transport news or have purchased our product. The product is Power D-Syl and we are looking to expand into the US market. We have the correct US label ready to go along with advertising materials and power point presentation to help inform all potential new and existing customers. Anyone who is interested in further information regarding the product or distributor information please contact me where I would be gald to help you further. Thank you for the opportunity to share this exciting new product with you. OutlawQ8

You tell a good deal about what your product will do in europe.  Geuss what, the diesel fuel used in europe and the United States and Canada are completely different fuels.  You should know this as they (in Europe) do not use a diesel fuel that has even remotely the same properties and chemical make up as our Crap ULSD fuel.  We in North America(United States, Canada and Mexico) are using the EPA mandated Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel formulation.  You could not have been testing the new ULSD fuel for 5 years because it has not been around for that long (june 11 2007).  Even if you had been working with one of the manufactures (like I was!) the formulation was not complete.  There is only one formulation of deisel fuel that is sold for North America nowdays.  The only variations you will find is wether or not an additive package has been added by the bulk distributor of the fuel (company transporting it to the gas station) to increase the winter or cetane aspects of the fuel. For all the guys in the U.S. who read this you had better understand the differences in our US fuel and the rest of the world as additives formulated to work in the rest of the worlds diesel fuel WILL NOT work in ours!

First of all thanks for your reply. Obviously you need to research your statements further. Diesel formulations vary dependent on supply and production and geographic area.. You sound like another disgruntled additive person who was sold a bill of goods and using an old technology product. Our product has been tested in over 60 formulations and types of diesel fuel in North America, and if you want to call me on this go right ahead. Our product works 100%, and is changing the diesel fuel additive market. 1 Product, 1 treat rate year round. Obviously our competitors do not like us as they need multiple products to our one. Take Ford for instance, 4 bottles still do not equal the benefits or performance of 1 bottle of Power D-Syl
. Now this being said and also all our certified testing in certified labs to industry standard tests we welcome anyone to try our product and see for yourself. Also since i have been in the petroleum industry for over 30 years, combined with my training and actual real life experience, I can make these statements which are factual and I can back up everything I have said , plus more. I also have a background, in race fuel sales, lubricant sales and speciality product sales and development. Yes , the additive market is full of old technology and hookey stuff that is a waste of money and puts a bad taste in consumers mouths as everyone wants to save money on fuel and vehicle expense. I welcome anyone to try Power D-Syl along with our other specialty products, Fuel Right and CTI Filters. Whether using one or all three the benefits are proven and  effective resulting in real quantifyable cost savings. Power D-Syl is not snake oil it's mongoose oil, Get The Power < Feel The Power. When or if you want to sell the product let me know and i will help you further with proper training and support to help your customers and provide actual solutions to their many applications and needs. Thank you for your reply,

Technically you both are right and both wrong.

Per the EPA, LSD (Low Sulfur Diesel) is not to exceed 500 ppm (parts per million) sulfur, while ULSD (Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel) is not to exceed 15 ppm.

For the Europeans, their version of LSD was mandated not to exceed 50 ppm (the "Euro IV" standard) and ULSD is not to exceed 10 ppm (the "Euro V" standard), and they also have what they call "sulfur free" diesel with diesel having sulfur content somewhere between 2 ppm and 6 ppm.

There are some states that still sell LSD for road use, and ULSD can be found everywhere due to it being unlawful not to sell it in some states.  Depending on geographical locations due to the time of year, you can find both #1 and #2 diesel.  And off-road diesel, or "red" diesel (due to the dye to mark it for offroad use since you don't pay road use tax on it) is not ULSD.  In most cases, red diesel isn't even LSD.  This is supposed to change by 2014 or 2015, where the EPA has said that ALL diesel sold will be ULSD, including red diesel.

So this means the US has at least 4 basic blends of diesel (#1 LSD, red #2 LSD, #2 LSD, and #2 ULSD) while the EU has three; primarily 10 ppm ULSD/DERV, with some 50 ppm LSD, and a few recent countries allowed more than 50 ppm LSD as they are recently joined the EU.  Sweden looks like they are the only country using "sulfur free" diesel as its not wide use yet in the other EU countries.

Now I don't think there are over 68 blends of diesel because diesel (specifically petrodiesel) only varies in chemical makeup due to the number of carbon atoms per molecule, which is generally 8 to 21 carbon atoms per molecule.  What I think you believe to be a "blend" is what the refining companies add to the fuel during processing, like cetane boosters, detergents, water removers, and other additives to help improve performance and prevent the fuel from going bad during storage.

I also don't see how you can increase your fuel mileage from 560km per tank to 900km.  Just so those that can't convert kilometers and liter to Imperial:

560km is 347 miles.
900km is 559 miles.
120l is 31.7 gallons.

That's roughly a 60% increase (347 plus 60%, or 208, is 552) in fuel economy based on a single additive.  I don't see how this is possible with just an additive and no other aftermarket parts or changes in driving patterns.

If you could provide more info on what the difference is in these "blends" then please post it.

Fuel and fuel additive experts? That is just my game. Answer me this?

The refiners would have us believe there is nothing wrong with the finished fuel..
Right? (of course)

And the engine builders would have us believe there is nothing wrong with the engines..
Right? (of course)

So if there is nothing wrong with the fuel and there is nothing wrong with the engines..

Exactly what problem is your fancy european high technology fuel additive correcting?
Please try to use some science when answering this question?
