Hey Smokers, just drug home a 93' TD dually 4door. Guy says has a head gasket out and I believe him. The radiator pukes and smokes as soon as you hit the key but no steam out of the tailpipe or in oil. Do ya'll agree? headgasket right. If so how big an S.O.B. is it to replace and should I do both while I'm at it. This is a GM Goodwrench replacment w/about 100,000. Seems tight other than the head problem. If you don't agree then what? Cracked head, cracked block? NEED IDEA's!!!

sounds like a blown head gasket, but what caused it to blow? did they say how hot it got? the heads on those are pretty thin so they crack easy. on another note: wanna sell the truck as is?

Just did them on my 95.Its a pain in the a** but do able. Had a difficult time getting the exhaust manifold bolts out. Do both, if ones bad chances are the other will go soon. Would be a good idea to have them psi checked or just replace them. Heads for a 6.5 seem to be cheap compaired to other diesels.

Definitely pull both heads and check for cracks as it is common for the heads to crack.
