Fellas,

I have a 04 f350 crew cab automatic lariat. I love the truck but I miss the 7.3 I had in my 01 supercrew. Is there a conversion out there with a direct bolt up to the 04 automatic in my truck?? Have you guys seen or heard of this? This is the the decision of whether or not to keep this truck. I may look for a trade for an 02 of the same value.

I also am thinking about the egr block out kit. Who makes them for my 04? Cost? I had a issue with my vanes on the turbo coking from too much idling. I do run the edge A2 but very limited on the max power setting.

What do you think? I'm at the cross roads here.

Thanks for your help.
Jay

well i cant help with your swap, but that swap sounds freakin awesome. I might be die hard cummins now but was raised on powerstrokes, and theres is no denying that a 7.3 is a bad ass motor. All i gotta say is post some pics if you do it!

Headstud it with the ARP's upgrade your turbo to handle the power and it will fix the vain issues. The 6.0 turbos don't keep up very well with electronic mods. You have a good engine just needs some tuning. As for the EGR kit do it you will see 50-100 deg lower egt and better low end grunt. They make bolt up turbos that will support 500RWHP stock 6.0 turbos only work to about 350RWHP. Any more questions let me know I own a 6.0 and mine will leave a slightly modified 7.3--Tim

Sorry, but that information is somewhat incorrect. If you can run 13.34 on fuel at 7100 lbs, that's somewhere around 480-490 hp on a stock turbo...
You're gonna have to quit giving bad information....

Granted you can run 13.3 on stock turbo I was just merely saying the basic upgrade would handle the power better than the stock. What other upgrades did he use to get to that time i'd like to try that myself? I have been told that the stock turbos on don't hold up to the high HP maybe i was told incorrectly. Thanks for the info that will help my personal truck.

OK. My bad. i thought you were saying the stock turbo would only SUPPORT 400hp.
He was running a FASS fuel system (not needed), SCT by elite, intake, and exhaust. Ran 12.51 on nitrous.
