Will a 2WD 6 speed Transmission work in a 4x4 auto transmission swap??

I have a 2004 dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Heavy duty 4x4 with the 48RE auto transmission. I have found a 2004 dodge 2500 HD cummins 6 speed manual for a parts truck but it is a 2WD will the transmission work going into a 4x4!? If anyone can help let me know.

Will it work?
Yes, but you're going to need some donor parts from a manual tranny.
There should be a portion of the tranny that connects to the transfer case ..... this is the part you'll need from the donor. It's too early and I haven't had my coffee, so forgive me if I'm not clear.
