Hey guys, I’m new to the forum and a first time diesel owner. I just purchased a 06 H1 Hummer Alpha and need some help. I’m not too worried about the truck being fast because I know that’s not reasonable at all. I would like to do some upgrades though so it can at least get out of its own way. I haven’t been able to find too much stuff for it but was hoping since it was a 6.6 Duramax I could make some changes. I’m basically looking for some extra power and I want it to be unnecessarily loud. Any ideas?

never seen one in person but i would love some pics of it you might be able to call hypertech or find a edge box that wires in get one to work since its a duramax it might be able to work.  Not alot of poeple have those so the market isnt very high for demand.  A aftermarket exhuast might be able to get it to work it will depend on how much room you have under the truck not saying it wont work just take a look see what kind of space you have.  A programmer you most likely would have to call they could make you just for your truck it would be higher i would buy a edge comp for that year duramax truck they connections might be the same for both of them

Call PPE they have some Hummer stuff. They will build you the programmer you need if they don't already have one. Im sure one of the big name exahust companies will have a system for it. If you can't find one offer you ride to them for a mock fit and you just might get it for free.

Yeah, I believe the engine in the Alpha is the LB7, or a version of the LLY. There are plenty of parts out there for it. Maybe not specific to the Hummer, but they should work. The only difference is the underhood packaging. PPE is a good place to start since they're DMax specialists.

Hey bud, if your truck is a production 06, it will have either the LLY or the LBZ. The 8th digit in the VIN will be D for the LBZ or 2 for the LLY. Federally, the engine cannot be older than the vehicle production to meet emissions standards. However, you can install a TS Performance MP8 or Diablosport Extreme Power Puck w/o any worries. Either 1 is called a pressure box and plugs into the MAP sensor and the railpressure sensor together for reasonably attainable gains. Additionaly,if you still want a tuner for the vehicle, you dont have to remove these boxes, but you do have to be careful stacking them.
