Hi Guys,

I’ve read a lot on forums about diesels running on used vegetable oil, it might sound scary but if it’s done right it can half your diesel costs which is a massive saving over the year. I found this helpful

www.howtofiltervegoil.co.uk

It tells you how to do it but more importantly what NOT to do and where to get all the bits from as well. I’ve been running mine on used oil for 18 months now and its ace. I recon the engines smoother but that’s properly just me?

Check out this website. It shows how to press your own oil. 1 acre of Camelina, sunflower, and stinkweeed produce around 100 gallons an acre. Plus these are rotation crops so it doesn't take away from food chain. You also get about 1,200 pounds of high protein feed meal $200/ton.

There are a lot of veg-oil enthusiasts out there that have been running their vehicles successfully on SVO, but there is the issue of glycerin deposit buildups over time. I wouldn't recommend running SVO in any engines with Piezo injectors, however.

Ditto that, as long as you change all of your rubber lines as wvo will eat them.
and a double filter system would be a plus.

Elsbett is the industry leader they've been doing it since the 1970's. They have an Elsbett engine developed just for it. One of the things about running SVO is it needs to be heated to 140 degrees. Also two tanks help so you can start and shut down on regular diesel it lasts longer in the lines without deteroiting.

Its like this imagine a pan if you pour the oil in when its cool and then heat it it will coke. But if you pour oil on a hot pan it burns clean. That's what I've been told I'll have to try it.

Also I think you want a different spray pattern when injecting SVO?
