GM Marketing Chief Mark LaNeve claimed on an interview on C-SPAN that there is not a great interest in diesel cars right now because of the high price of diesel relative to gas. Well, maybe a year ago, but not now. Of course, over the past 18 months, we know what a roller-coaster ride fuel prices have been on lately.

Diesel is cheaper than gas where I struggle, I mean where I live, so to speak. this is just another Democrap swaying the sheeple to believe this CRAP. Diesel is so much cleaner now than it was. Diesels get better MPG than POS Gassers.
Cummins Diesel 20 MPG CITY 26 MPG HWY.
Gas engines SUCK MONEY FROM YOUR POCKET.
The OIL company's made the Gas engine to get rich!!! off of you!!!!!!!!!!. Ha Ha Ha . Stealing from you, and you let them. boy you are dumb.

Even my '03 3500 got better mileage than a half ton gasser, and it hung out around 15 MPG compared to the '06 Ram that my boss drove and his whopping 9 MPG.
This crackhead at GM has no clue. There is a reason why Toyota, Mitsubishi, etc. will continue to have a better product. It's called innovation ..... and we haven't seen any since the days of Lee Iacocca. This is what happens when you stick with the status quo.
This is why you're being sold off in bits and pieces, GM.
And if Chrysler doesn't act fast Fiat will only own a piece of them.
Oh, and Ford ..... this is your wake up call. You're next.

Well they are Government Motors now. What do you expect, diesel is a good competitor to all this green nonsense being pushed by the administration and the radical minority that runs this country. This is what happens when you have an oligarcy. How many czars are we up to now?
MPGs aside you want to talk about flexfuel? How about Petro-diesel, veg-biodiesel, algal-biodiesel, CNG. America has the more natural gas than I think any other nation and it's cheap to get. A diesel engine can run them all. Aren't they also doing well sucking up hydrogen with those generators too?

did anyone ever see that VW jetta comercial, where the guy next door brags how he gets 40 mpg with his toyota prius, then the diesel jetta says something like " well i hold a record for 59 mpg ", then it says, " what does your hybrid sound like? ". my point is that its proven a compact car with a diesel will blow a hybrid piece of junk out of the water in fuel milage and most likely engine life. so in the long run, what do you think would be the cheapest?? i know my answer.
