Hey fellow dodge lovers.
I just bought an 08,6.7 diesel, 3500, dually, mega, 4x4 in Calif. I picked it up for 39k brand new. I hope was a good choice. Ive been reading some bad stuff No problems at 16k miles. I am wanting to upgrade the exaust, chip and other mods that won't void my warranty. I heard with the chip you can unplug the batteries to reset the computer and the info from the chip is gone. Is this true? Anyone been in the shop that has a chip and still was covered under warranty.
If I cruise at 70-75 mph i get about 15mph. When I tow my camper and quads (about 3500lbs) im down to 10mph. When I do tow, the truck seems to get real hot crossing the mid line. Im not a hot rod racer with this truck espcially when im towing. But it gets hot and then cools down. What will help with this? Any clues.
Also lookin to get an exaust that sounds deep. I dont want to delete anything cause of warranty, unless there are tricks to keeping warranty and modify the exaust.
Last I heard if you change out the intake that would void warranty. If not what is the best to go with?
Any help or recommendations i would appreciate.

Just remember they can only void the warranty if the mod you put on is what caused the problem. if you put new shock absorbers they will try to refuse warranty that's where your lawyer comes into play. There's laws against dealers voiding warranty's for aftermarket parts and stuff. Google this act..
Most vehicle owners are not aware they are protected by federal law: the Magnuson-Moss Warranty – Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act of 1975. Under the Magnuson-Moss Act, aftermarket equipment which improves performance does not void a vehicle manufacturer’s original warranty, unless the warranty clearly and conspicuously states that aftermarket equipment voids the warranty. Most states have warranty statutes, as well. Which provide further protections for vehicle owners.
In other words, that means a dealer can’t wiggle out of his legal warranty obligation merely because you install aftermarket equipment. To find out if any aftermarket equipment automatically voids your vehicle’s warranty, check the owner’s manual. It is likely the language you are looking for appears under a heading such as “What Is Not Covered” Although the language seems negative, remember your vehicle manufacturer is simply saying he does not cover the aftermarket products themselves. He is not saying that the products would void the vehicle warranty.

Thanks for the info...
I want to do a chip first and for most. If i install it, is there a way to put the truck back to stock and delete the chips files, just to be safe. Is unplugging the battery for 30 minutes or so work.

Depends on the chip most don't leave a trace. If you get the downloaders it puts your stock programs on the downloader until you want to return it to stock. You can take it in and out when you take it in for a service in fact some of them if you have the downloaded program on it the dealer won't get an accurate reading.
