Ok Ok I see the tuff speel here on the "Whos best" and I for one am for massive torque,I dont own BUT have driven a variety of diesel trucks admitedly not under the conditions you all use them for.I live a block from the Tulsa County fair grounds and ther are a variety of Horse, and large livestock shows year round,I see trucks pulling large stock trailers with tags from all over North America, this includes Canada, the truck brands are about even when it comes to both Ford and Dodge,Chevy interestingly enough have more women drive them and is on the short stroke...errrrr......should I say stick, this is obseved in the 20 yrs living in this area,Ford forever was king for ever till the mid 90's,then Dodge pulled about even,Chevy and GMC bring up the powder puff honors.Tulsa seems pro Ford Truck, after all Ford bought all the naming rights for the next 10 yrs for the spectator areas including the arenas,LOL if you need to know the Ford truck lineup just Go to the Tulsa County Fairgrounds, every FORD truck line is represented there.

Man you can't put it any better than what maxedoutperformance said. I agree 100%. Fords are just the best there's ever been- no questions asked.  If it wasn't for the Cummins engine Dodge would be whale poop at the bottom of the ocean.  And for the dude that posted right before me- I don't think that dodge of his has ever seen much more than a garage and lots of tlc.  My 6.9 could probably drag his cumins around all day. any questions?(i'm still on page one guys.)

i run em hard and heavy the best motor is the ctd as far as who makes the trucks they are all pos. just got done running 350 miles with 374 small alfalfa bales on the trailer ran 65 all the way and got about 7.5. try that with the other 2 and mine is stock. bring your 6.9 i'd be glad to drag it around like a trailer
I burn more diesel and run more miles in a week the most of you people do in a month. ctds that have been used 97 3500, 98.5 3500, 98.5 3500,01 3500, 03 3500. those that are being used 06 3500, 07 3500. and yea these trucks earn their living

Cummins will make more torque than any other pickup out there. Period. Longer stroke = more leverage on the crankshaft = torque.

cummins is a way better engine than any other, and as for the truck, chevy's fall apart if u out em to work. Dodge and ford build a more solid truck for sure. I also havnt seen a ford build in the last 5-6 yrs that hasnt had major issues with there engines. Dodge has er beat with no competition until ford can get there *** together and build a good engine.

Dude I had a F-250 6.9 4spd for about 5 years...great truck, but it wouldn't drag any Cummins around...not even a BT4. Yeah if it wasn't for the Cummins, Dodge wouldn't be in the picture, but at least they offer a diesel...from everything I've read Fords not going to offer a diesel till 2012(after the 6.4's they have paid for runs out...which should be soon)also lets not forget Fords 6.0 was labeled "The most unreliable production engine ever produced" with some $500 million in warranty repairs...so it's kinda hard to say "Fords are just the best there's ever been- no questions asked". That being said if I could buy a new Cummins powered Ford F-350 I'd order one tomorrow...then again I have no complaints with my Dodge.

My current truck is a 04 F350 and the one before it was a 02 dodge.both 6 speeds and good trucks, and I have replaced/fixed less things on both together compared to my partners 07 duramax. my 350 is a Xlt lariat and its a lot more roomy,[Im 6,2] than the silverado and even my partner says its more comfortable on long trips or towing, yes I have had some of the 6.0 problems but have fixed or am in the prosses of doing it. My point is each manufacturer has good and bad pionts. It all comes down to personal preferance, and past luck with a brand.I like 4 big doors a loaded interior 6 speed a long bed and a solid front axle with leaf springs so the ford was my choice.I also have a titan fuel tank and love it!20 mpg and 60 gallons lets do some distance!and I do pull with it, a sand rail and 5 quads in a 30 foot trailer@ 16,000lbs from humboldt to glammis Ca.1,200 one way.Cant we al just get a bong?

I've seen a bunch of Dodge Cummins trucks with well over 800,000 miles on them, some had over a million miles on them without an overhaul to the engine.
I've read opinions of Dodge having a weak transmission, I think it was from a FORD fan. FORD fan, you know yourself, that FORD IS known to have tranny trouble also.
I know of a dealer in VA, who will not stock a FORD diesel truck that has the 6.0 in it; because he says its had problems from the get go! His reputation is on the line.
I know a lot of big utilities companies and government agencies have FORD trucks in their fleet; only because that was the lowest purchase price for a fleet of trucks!
Show me some FORD Powerstrokes with over 800,000 miles on them, WITHOUT being overhauled; can you count them on one hand?

I like Ford trucks, I drive an F150 with 232,000 miles on the 4.9L six. It's a great truck!
I've owned two Dodge Rams in the late 80's, which both were great trucks, one of them I abused pretty bad, I had no powertrain issues; but I did have to put new parts in the front end due to washboard effect of the marl roads in western South Florida.
I don't know why Ford fanatics are trashing Dodge so much. The big three trucks all have their quirks.
I won't buy a GM 4X4, for the fact that they have IFS front ends. The rest of the truck is pretty good!
It's good to hear from all, to see which truck I will buy next.

in all truth i dont care how smooth my truck is on the road or how luxurious it is all i care about is if it can get me from point a to b in one piece and i would have to take my hat off to cummin because that engine has been around since 1931 thats 78 years of developement i dont think you can say that for ford or chevy by far when it comes down to it cummins has the trophy because none of the engines cummins has made have had any real big problems unlike chevy's 6.5L and ford 6.0L ford could never get ahead of cummins so now they took the same engine size from cummins cummins 6.7L and now ford has the 6.7L scorpion and ford took everything from dodge and cummins and put sterling on the grill with the 2008 dodges whats with that.

08' Super Duty pulls 18K from a start like pulling nothing! WOW!!  I even feel half of that weight from a start in my 680RWHP twinned Dodge (over 2X the RWHP of a 08 6.4 FYI).  Maybe Ford misprinted the 08' Ford horsepower specs, they must have forgotten a "1" in front of the 350.
