This is absolutely frickin' stupid, unless Fiat has a turbo diesel it wants to use.
My old boss back in the States (good friend too) loves my trucks and told me he'd convert to diesel in a heartbeat just because of a huge improvement in fuel mileage. He was lucky to break double digits on the highway and when I told him my '03 (what I had at the time) was getting 15 to 17 on the highway and 11 to 13 in the city, he was done with gassers and his next truck would be diesel.
VW has them, Porsche has them, BMW has them ..... and they work great.
Like I said in another post ...... this is the wake up call for the Big 3 and they're missing it.

The last time I checked my gas milage I am gettin 21 mpg city and 26 hwy in my dodge 2500 with 8 inch lift, and 35's I have a diablo chip, ats two piece exhaust manifold, brute force intake, 4" exhaust, high rise intake manifold and that's about it that I can think of right now...but yeah the only reason I went diesel is for the fuel milage and the power for towing...
