I know, I'm thinking the unthinkable, but with 2 out of the Big 3 having gone through bankruptcy, and one of them now under the control of a foreign automaker (again) anything could happen. My hypothetical question to you is: If you couldn't get a Cummins in a Ram, what other engine would you want in it? CAT, Detroit, International?

unless it had a motor as good as the cummins or better then i wouldnt buy it. the ctd is the only reason why i run dodges in the first place. cat's out because as of 2010 i believe they will no longer make engines for on road use
I burn more diesel and run more miles in a week the most of you people do in a month. ctds that have been used 97 3500, 98.5 3500, 98.5 3500,01 3500, 03 3500. those that are being used 06 3500, 07 3500. and yea these trucks earn their living

the only reason i own a dodge is because of a cummins. if dodge doesnt renew its contract with cummins and i needed a new truck i would look elsewhere

Not really a Duramax fan, so maybe the new 6.7 powerstroke fourth generation.

I wouldn't buy a new pickup then. My preference would go Cummins, Cat, Detroit, Duramax, Powerstroke/Scorpion. What I would really be looking for is a straight 6 with Common Rail injection preferably twin turbos from the factory.

As far as I'm concerned if Dodge didn't have the B-series, you could fill a ditch with their trucks.

I agree with most people in that I wouldnt own a chrysler product period if they didnt have the Cummins. If they put a DD in a one of the brands Id go for that though.
