Hey all,
I am relatively new to the Diesel world. I bought a 2000 Ford Excursion with the 7.3L to haul around my big family. I confess that I have always been a Chevy fan. So naturally, I want to get rid of the 7.3L and transmission and replace it a Duramax and Allison transmission. Has anyone performed this mod to a Ford? I have seen many articles on switching to the Cummins, but I would rather have the Duramax because it can produce a lot of power and still get good gas mileage. Please provide any info on this. Or should I just swap out to the Cummins?

I don't know anything about swapping out your motor for a chevy or dodge motor, but I am interested in your motor and possibley your transmission. I have a 2003 ford excursion with a v-10 in it. It's pretty gutless. I'm looking to do a gas to diesel swap. Keep me in mind when you go to pull that thing out, I would be interested in buying it from you if the price is right and its in good condition.
