2000 jetta TDI automatic

My jetta tdi has 143,500 miles on it and the transmission is going bad. I took it to two different mechanics and they both said the same thing. Does anyone know what the cheapest option is to fix it the trans code is ELT.

Your tranny is going bad, sell it now. Get someone with vag com to clear the code and sell it. It will cost you 4k to replace it or 2.5k to switch it to a 5 speed.
