So i hear that the new model chevys are hard to do mods on. Like the exhaust is designed not to be messed with or something. That is the only thing stopping me from investing in a new duramax. Is it worth buying a new dmax or are the older models (03-06) better? But if you guys can clear this up for me i would appreciate it alot. Any mods you can think of id be interested in hearing about.
Thanks

With all the injector issues with the '03 - '06 Duramax, you still want one?

Well what years do you think were the best? I know the LLYs and the LBZs are great engines, but like everything other one out there they have their ups and downs. I realize your probably a cummins fan with 2 dodges, and its kinda hard to get an un-biased opinion about trucks these days. Dont get me wrong im not knockin cummins, i think there great engines.

The model year for '06 and '07 don't seem to have all the injector issues the earlier models had, except the '01.

And believe me, I'm not being a "fan boy".  Do some searching on this forum and you'll see how many complaints there are on the Duramax.

Hey bud I have many customers with all 3 of the late model emissions trucks. Most of my customers with these vehicles have the LMM Duramax. There are PLENTY of trouble free upgrades for any of them, you just need to know where to look. I can say there are some on road tuners out there that will clog a dpf even though they say they are intended for them. Additionally, deleting the dpf's have proven fanatstic results on any of them! FYI. Ive had a customer with an 07.5 Ram 3500 Cummins 6.7L have a turbo failure, a 09 F450 Ford 6.4L with never ending power complaints and a Duramax with a fuel related issue, but it was something common to all gens of Dmaxes. Any manufacturer can have problems. If i had to choose 1, I would say the GM has the least amount of them, then the Dodge. JMO
