I’m trying to find a good diesel shop in the San Diego area. If anyone knows of any that specialize in Cummins that would be preferred but any good diesel shop will do.

There is Maximum Diesels in Hemet, CA. I'm not sure about any Cummins-specific guys down there, yet.....

Thx, I'll check them out. Have you used them before?

I just had them rebuild a 98.5 cummins for a friend out of tucson, whose trucks engine !@#$ the bed with 156k miles on it . he diagnosed the problem with it and gave him an excellent price quote, and stuck to the price he quoted him. Heck, i think he came in under the quote. Russ is an awesome guy to deal with, he really made me feel comfortable about bringing a buddies engine to him. In my opinion, he seems like a genuinely good person and a hell of a cummins guy. he works on all diesels, not just cummins.

It might be a little drive, but sounds worth it. I know he had $2,000 worth of mods on his 12-valve when it was running 8.10s or 8 flats in the eighth-mile at Barona. I'd say he knows how to make them run good
