do you think that if you took a TDI out of a VW and put it in a Fiero or MR-2 or a porche and to make it a Mid-engine RWD diesel. You would have to keep the front of the morot pointed front to keep the gearing the same but what would you say about that swap. I think it would be sweet and fairly cheap just find a VW donor car and fieros are dirt cheap where im from so i would say under 10k and it would be sweet. what do you think???

Have you checked out Renegade Hybrids? They do this with several different Porsche models but not with a diesel.
I'm actually considering doing one of these with a late model 944 or a 968 and an LS-2 engine. I used to own an '86 944 and while it was a fantastic car just to cruise around in and use like a touring car, it was anemic on power.
The kit for this runs from 8k to 12k, but triples the horsepower and torque and gets you away from the $120 plus mechanic fees of the Porsche dealer for regular engine maintenance.

TDI in a Fiero or MR2 would be awesome! They're light enough that the engine should be plenty powerful, especially if it's tuned up a little. Shoot, I've seen guys stuff Northstars in the back of Fieros, so it seems to be a TDI would be cake, at least packaging-wise. Wiring & electrical might be another matter, though.
