06' Ford F250 6.0

I have a whistle noise that sounds like a kettle pot.  It only comes on when I throttle down after a start off from a red light or any time I may let off from a high rpm.

Has any one had the same noise?

What would you recommend to fix?

Listen to the whistle after he lets off the throtle.

If I had to guess I would say it is your waste gate letting off the boost pressure it doesn't require anymore since your letting of the throttle after accelerating. Again just a guess (I didn't watch the videos, can't turn the volume up at work  Wink )

In all the 6.0 headgasket jobs we've done at my shop, I've never heard of headgaskets "whistling", probably something that was repaired when they were doing headgaskets

I have been listening a lot more for the whistle and the time that it does it.  It will do it on wierd times of all throtle positions.  Steady speeds and floor stomping peddle I will not hear it.  Most of the time when I let off the peddle or some more that moderate increase of speed from a stop.  I have not had any motor work done on the truck.  I do have all Banks Products of the Air Box, Exhaust, Technicooler with tubes and High-Ram Intake.  I don't beleive that this was a result of the whistle.

The truck has 90,000 miles on it.  It has never had a chip or programing other than stock from Ford.

I'm now on my 2nd year with this POS 6.0 and I've had just about every issue. In fact I got a lawyer it's that bad, but I did buy second hand. Anyways I believe the noise is coming from your Coolant Degas bottle. Check for white residue on the outside around the bottle. Also it may not leak that much maybe spots but if you wipe them off and it whistles again you'll notice the spots are back. I had the same thing. Listed below are the items that the 3 dealerships replaced before a Service Manager drove it came back and said " Head gaskets are blown."

Turbo
EGR System, Cooler, etc.- 6 times
MAF Sensor
Coolant Bottle Cap- twice

Left side head and both gaskets

I hope you have this fixed under warranty. Also ask them to look at the HPOP for you as well if they tear it down. Let me know if you need a good lawyer against Ford.
