Sprinter - engine derates-looses turbo here in utah

Spritnner van is driven 500 miles aday. and derates at times on trip down to utah from Idaho. Mechanic says itst he heat causeing sencor to tell brain to unturbo..
any suggestion?

Might have a bad sensor, so have your mech do the remove/replace to it. Otherwise its a cooling issue.
Which sensor is it? Include some more info so we can help you better.

Is it the 5-cylinder or the V6?

Have both motors in several vans they almost all act the same way
