I just got a 99 dodge 2500 with a D80 and 3.73’s. I’m looking to improve my MPG’s and one part of that for me is replacing the ring and pinion with 3.31’s (I won’t be towing just using the bed). My question is what do I need to do for my speedo and RPM’s to match the 3.31? I know with newer Dodge’s you can change it with a programmer but have not seen such products for a 99.

You will be able to recalibrate your Speedo with a True Speed or similar product. There is no setting adjustment for that in the Jtec during this year. As for you rpm that is only measuring your engine speed and doesnt need to be changed.

I was doing a little research and ended up talking to a guy who used a Supperchips programmer and had good results but his truck was an 01. Have you heard of anyone using one of these on a 99? I’m sure these are dumb questions but this Dodge is light years beyond my 1984 Blazer.
Thanks for the feed back I'll check out True Speed.

We can increase your fuel mileage by 10-20%. We use a crank vent catalyst with other technologies combined to increase fuel mileage.
