I found a 1978 Ford F-350 Long Bed Crew Cab Dually, which is really rare.
I want to swap out the gasoline engine for a 6.9L IDI(83-86) or a 7.3L IDI('87-94.5).It has a 4-speed manual(either t-19 or np435),which i want to replace with a ZF 5-speed(Diesel version)
The truck is in Grand Prairie,Texas.
I live in San Angelo,Texas.

The F-350 sounds Like a real find. If the price is right I would go for it. I am putting together a 78" Ford Cummings swap. All the info I have read on the sires engines & trans. you are talking about are good reliable equipment but you will never get the power, mileage, or torque etc.... like you will out of the Cummings. Simply put the Cummings will out last, out preform, & you can do more to it. My suggestion is to get in touch with the guys @ fordcummins.com. They are a great resource, & have been there done that. If you are Bent on the 6.9L & so on I know of a guy in north east Wy. that has a 86'F-250hd he wants to get rid of for $500. By the way it still runs just not well. Good luck.
