Engine loses water... Water jacket holds 15# pressure... With disengaged water pump(and engine running) air blows water out of overflow reservoir...(No radiator fill cap) At same time there is suddenly serious diesel fuel leak from engine... What is my problem...? What is fix? Any rule as to how much $ to put into 15 year old, but nice, 2500 Suburban with 165,000 miles?

sounds like either a headgasket or cracked head maybe
I burn more diesel and run more miles in a week the most of you people do in a month. ctds that have been used 97 3500, 98.5 3500, 98.5 3500,01 3500, 03 3500. those that are being used 06 3500, 07 3500. and yea these trucks earn their living

Unless there's some recent history of the heads being off, we're betting on a cracked head and usually both. While the water jacket will hold 15 psi of pressure it won't hold back the 300 to 350 psi of compression, let alone the chamber pressure of combustion. The 6.5 heads typically crack between the valves and under the stress of heat and combustion, pass cylinder pressure into the water chamber causing the excessive radiator pressure that kicks antifreeze out the overflow. The crack rarely opens enough to let water pass the opposite direction into the piston chamber while shut off. If you are seeing a raw fuel leak, I'm betting the fuel leak is non related to the coolant pressure problem. If you are seeing unburnt fuel and or stains on exhaust manifolds or piping, the crack is causing low enough compression that unburnt fuel is being kicked out with the exhaust.

1. About your fuel leak. Injection pump lines or a bad injector. If you purchase new injectors pop test them. 2. The heads are cracked or loose. Have you had them off recently? 3. These truck are good for 300,000 A great truck to fix for $ 3,000. if you like the truck. Much better tan the alternative.
