108,942 milage and the high pressure oil pump has gone out. i have had all sorts of problems since day one, alternators, e.g.r valve and cooler (numerous times) this is the 3rd time the motor has had to be torn down so should i put a e.g.r delete kit on it and a oil cooler thats not made by ford or what. the thing here is that i would like to fix the truck the cheapest and trade it in but the line of biz. im it its hard to sell with the tank on back so i may have to keep it so any suggestions.

the dealership says that they will try to help me with the repair since its just out side the warranty. thats just great but what about all the down time and money, and business lost to this pile of nothing 6.0. I have talked to numerous people and mechanics and this isnt an isolated incident so why dont we all band together and get ford to fix or or replace the problem engine once and for all. I am in a biz where people that do the smae thing i do  use the ford 250 up to the 550 and we are all tired of the runaround that we have had from ford so thats why iam reaching out side  my work community for help (there is a mighty strength in numbers)

no, we decided that with all the trouble we have had with the truck and we run it every day with our business that we were getting rid of it. i cant afford all the down time and the money we were going to have to sink into it to do the changes.thatmay or may not fix it for good, besides i think it has a curse on it. we also nkow that the front end suspention has gave us trouble too with the infamous (dealh wobble)and  we dont wont the trouble and headache anymore . i do thank you for the info but we have sworn away from ford for the business.

Wow. Well... The 6.4's are better. And I KNOW you can't go wrong with a 7.3.

dude get over your 7.3       thing of the past. no company is going to buy a 7.3 hardly even a 6.0 when even they are at least nearly 3 years old now.

In stock form the 7.3L is a better engine than the 6.0L, even if it doesn't throw down the horses.  After all, those of us that own diesels didn't buy them just for racing.  We bought them because they will run much longer than a gas engine.  Why do you think Ford gave Navistar money, even though Navistar screwed Ford on warranties?  $500 million dollars in warranties that were never paid, plus Ford shelled out an "undisclosed" amount to terminate the contract.

Ford bought out the contract because they were getting killed with warranty work.

You'll find more 7.3L's on the road with less problems than you will 6.0L's, and the 7.3 hasn't been in production for OVER 6 years.

I was just saying, a 7.3 is reliable. And if the company is smaller, then they WOULD buy a used work truck.

And by the way Brentos. I consider your statement a compliment, but I will not be "getting over" the 7.3.

well all of you might not like what i am about to say but the truth hurts sometimes. FORD will never see action in my business ever again or in My yard on blocks either. I have had fords over the years and have always had suspention, engine, and paint issues with them. I frankly have had enough and the wife agrees too. she currently drives a ford ranger and the damn thing leaks like a cow taking a leek on a flat rock around the rear window when its raining.I have had ford dealersship look at it 3 times and they cant fix it. Izuzu will be what replaces our ford work truck we have had 2 of them so far and no problems. the current one is a 98 with 300 k miles and still kicking.
