I mean Pulling 150hp cab 4x4 tractors 14 rolls of hay D4 dozers thats pulling. Hauling a load of cattle to sale in your 28 ft tripple axle steel stock trailer. hauling logs on your 32 to 50 ft long flatbed This is pulling some city folk think they need a big disel to pull a riding lawn mower trailer and then talk like they belong in the disel world Hey people cowboy up buy a Dodge cummins and pull something. Thats what Cummins is built for us Cowboys our Towing Machines

half to add suspension and power?  don't you mean have to add suspension and power.   Oh by the way you wern't pulling a load of bulls you pulling a load of bull$@%^.  Chrysler/Dodge=2 government bailouts; Ford=0 government bailouts. Ford is the number one truck manufacturer in the world.  Tell your dog to get back on the porch before he gets bit.

just because its the number one manufacture doesnt mean its the best. if that was the case i believe you would get the powerstroke in the larger f series instead of a cat or cummins. so put that with your little puppies. i out run and out pull f350's all day long , exscuse me when they can run without overheating or needing to get fuel
I burn more diesel and run more miles in a week the most of you people do in a month. ctds that have been used 97 3500, 98.5 3500, 98.5 3500,01 3500, 03 3500. those that are being used 06 3500, 07 3500. and yea these trucks earn their living

Oh another "if its not a Ford" guy.

Ford got messed over on $500 million in warranty work with Navistar's engine.  You won't see Cummins doing THAT to its customer base, or Duramax doing that to GM.

Well, I think that the Ford chassis were always the best choice out of the big three. Lots of room, looked great from the outside, and newer years (08+) had an amazing King Ranch option for the interior.

The drive train I suggested is more suited for a F-650/750. But even if its a bit over the top, I am sure it possible. Not to mention you would probably have the only pick-up with a Cat in it. I do hope however, that the new 6.7L PowerStroke will be more to your liking. I think they put a lot of engineering hours into it. Only time will tell. Also note that Ford is revamping their transmission. The new Torque shift 6 speed transmission I know I will be looking forward to.

I agree with pbr an inline is going to make more torque than a v style motor anyday, its just how theyre built

WOW!!!!!! You have a major inferiority complex huh pal? How much is Dodge paying you???

I see Ford here in MI pulling Bulldozers and backhoes all the time, as well as hay. Who give an eff what a trucks hauling? What kinda of A hole wastes fuel and time pulling a load just to show off? O what, you can answer that cant you!? Im sure you have embellished (look it up) alot too.

Now lets look at some numbers, The current Dodge Ram 3500 can tow a maximum of 17,000lbs. The current Ford F-350 can tow a maximum of 17,700lbs. The F-450 can tow a max of 24,200lbs. Until the chassis cab Dodge Ram, Dodge couldnt compete with Ford and Chevys capabilities. And they still cant. There extremely close. Also Ford has a 50% share in the HD pick-up market. That means out of every two HD pickups you see, one is a Ford. There doing something right. Diesel Power Mag states that Fords are the most commonly found truck on jobsites. They are actually used for commerical work and not just to look pretty.

The engine, is the Cummins B-series a good engine? HELL YES IT IS!!!! I'll go on record saying it the best engine a 3/4-1ton pickup has ever seen!! Better than any International Navistar engine? YES!! Better than Durmax? YES!

Every one knows that, I mean Cummins has been around since 1919! They had there diesel engines in Indy cars racing the Indy 500 in the 1930's!!! What more do you want? The B-series has been around (in development)since 1978 and Cummins had been making inline-six cylinder diesels for commercial applications long before.

Is the Dodge Ram a great truck? YES!!! It has the best diesel engine you could find for a 3/4-1ton truck, great manual transmissions, great transfer cases, great axles, and great looks. If fact the next new truck I buy with probably be the 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 dually 6.7L 6-speed manual.

Does that mean Ford and GM's are bad? NO!!!! Your a petty child if you post this kind of *** It makes you sound like a little *** who saw the other child at preschool had a truck you wanted or didnt like....so you trashed it. Grow up. A real truck guy values each truck for it individual marets, not marketing/owner hype.

And there will alway be a guy with a more capable truck, ever see a semi? A 400 ton mining haul truck? The machine that moves the space shuttle? Come on with this weak ***

The only little load I see here is in your head and pants cowboy.....Maybe youve been kicked in the head by bulls to much IDK, but I feel bad for you if your this ignorant.

Who said the Powerstroke was a better motor than a Cummins? NO ONE! I also agree the inline-six diesel will always make more torque at a lower rpm than a similiar designed and displacement V8.

The most powerful engine in the world an inline 14-cylinder. Wartsila-Sulzer RTA96-C turbocharged two-stroke diesel

Some facts on the 14 cylinder version:
Total engine weight: 2300 tons  (The crankshaft alone weighs 300 tons.)
Length: 89 feet
Height: 44 feet
Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm
Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm

If only Ford had put a I6 CAT engine in there truck in 1983 or when ever really.
