If you're worried about smoke, and how much can be cleaned up with tuning, you could always get a large volume injector, and just keep the nozzle size to a minimum. Something like a 250cc 100% nozzle can get you up past 600 with the right air. David has done it before.

I am not having trouble with the trubo. I just would like to get a little more HP for pulling. It pulls fine now, but a few more HP would be helpful through the passes or Oregon and Montana. I just don't know which direction to take it next.

The SuperChip needs to be ditched in favor of a custom tuned chip. Or some companys can even program your PCM.

I'm guessing you must have gauges already, in that case look into getting a custom chip with a specific towing setting. Yeah I know the superchip already has a "tow" setting, but the custom chip will put the superchip to shame. To help with egts you could look into a coolingmist Stg2 water injection kit, it will drop your egts and allow you to use higher HP setting on your chip. If you want to take it further look into getting a fuel system upgrade, a regulated return(RR) would be great, a RR with in-tank mods would be better. One step further, if you have a decent amount of miles on your truck you might think about having your stock injectors tested and flow matched.

I spoke with David at DI for about an hour on Wednsday and we've worked up what we want to do with my new engine. It's gonna be pricey, but I had no idea you could wring that much power out of a 7.3L. He's talking 600RWHP for a reliable daily driver. I thought the reasonable upper limit was in the high 400's. What is less likely to shred my brand new engine-H2), nitrous or propane? I never used nitrous on drag cars, relying on brute force from a big block bowtie and a brother who rocks at putting top ends together.

Of the three you mentioned, the turbo. Please don't use propane, ever. The H2E will be a good addition plus with the hypermax platform you have a few bigger turbos you can grow into. If you get hooked, then you can just transition to compounds with it as well. What turbo did david recommend GT42R? Or gtp38R? Basically, just follow davids lead, tell him what you want, and how much $$$ you have to spend I think he can set you up.

David recommended the GTP38R to start with but mentioned the 42. That H2) in my previous post was supposed to be H2O-water/meth injection. I've heard good and bad about it. Not sure if I want to use it.

What have you heard bad about it? As far as I know, now keep in mind I don't have a water meth system, but as long as you run just water for egt help and are not using it to gain HP you won't have much to worry about. Just be sure to get yourself a good kit, a lot of guys on other forums seem to like the cooling mist brand over snows.

X2 on the Cooling Mist. I've heard the same about Snow's, more miss than hit. I haven't heard anything bad about Cooling Mist.
If you're looking to burn diesel better and on the cheap I've heard the Brown's Gas generators are best, and you do get a bit more power for practically nothing. Since it's water, it's easy to refill and won't require a stop at a propane station and its way safer. Propane is nice but you really need to build up for that and it does additional wear and tear on the engine.

I would just follow David's lead. He's an expert at this kinda stuff. That being said, if you're shooting for over 460rwhp, you will HAVE to go with the GT42R or a similar sized turbo, unless you want to use nitrous.
Nitrous is a good thing on a diesel. But just so you know... There can be TOO much of a good thing.
