1997 6.5 turbo diesel shuts off after 3 minutes

I Have searched the site for this answer with no success,At the beginning of this issue my 6.5 turbo diesel cranks and after about 5 minutes would shut off,wait a minute crank it and runs fine for a couple of days,now it has gone to shutting off after about 2 to 3 minutes,wait cranks fine and shuts down again?can't drive it now Help

Prolly the PMD. It is a little black box on the side of the IP. It is bou the size of a deck of cards. Very common problem with these 6.5's. There are quite a few aaftermarket companies with a heat sink for the PMD. The best thing you can do is get an extension harness and get the PMD out of the engine compartment. Heath, Kennedy, PMD cables are good ones. Also check out dieseltowingresource.com alot of good 6.5 info there. Joe

How much is the pmd? I have a 97 6.5 and its dying. like some turned of the key.

i have a 94 6.5 diesel that ran great and was trun off and than never strat back. it will trun over great but will not run.new fuel pump, new injector pump, new pcm, and it look like it is in time. after it die the pcm will not talk to the obd conntector. all the wires between them are good. what cause this probelm?
